I am thankful that I no longer drink or desire to hang in bars. The same sort of thing happens here to a lesser extent. Even in some of the well managed sports bars and such, there is always a chance of some scumbag pulling a gun and shooting someone in a drunken rage or over a woman.
The days of stopping for a beer after work with the working class family men seem to be a thing of the past.
Surprisingly enough, the shootings in bar room incidents are seldom seen here, and this is a state where there are a large numbers of people carrying concealed. It was recently passed to allow a person with a permit to legally carry their weapon in a restaurant of bar. THAT I did not quite agree with, but then again, we ARE in Tennessee, where rednecks rule and the citizenry does not lean toward over regulation or government interference in ANY of their rights.
We go out to eat after bowling with a pretty gal that owns a company that manufactures wheels for mining equipment. She makes her company bank deposits and often is in possession of quite a bit of cash of her own. She has a permit, and carries a special purse, with a compartment that makes her 32 semi-auto handgun quickly accessible. My bowling partner carries a 9 mil in his truck, and another friend is never without his weapon when he rides his motorcycle after being accosted once in Gatlinburg by some thugs wanting to rob him. His wife has a bra holster for her single shot derringer and rides a Harley Fat Boy of her own. It simply pays not to screw with anyone around this part of the country. Road rage could get you shot, hahaha.
