Clip, I'd choose Win8 over Win7. You won't have the driver problems I had ... probably . because you're using normal devices and I doubt if you're stressing them. You could probably use a very simple print driver, for example, if you just prin out letters and occasional photos. I believe Win 8 has drivers for the run of the mill devices. I didn't mind the user interface for Win8 after a while. I seem to remember XP moves that could be used too. And there's also a shell program that will give you back the start button and its function. Plus Microsoft is planning a major update to Win8 to solve a lot of problems. Dave & I disagree on the wisdom of running an XP device after the April date. We have discussed it in a thread here somewhere. I'm not sure how much of it is due to my new toy lust, I may grow up someday. Interestingly, if you're wrong, you won't be wrong for long, because sooner than we think we'll all have to move ahead. And as you imply, most of us buy a new machine with a new level of Windows installed and get used to it. In my case, complaining all the way.
