Well,don't become a corporate attorney. A friend of mine in IBM moved around and had to take the bar in New York, Connecticut, Georgia, Minnesota and Kentucky. At least, those are the places he worked and I think he had to take the bar in many of them.

Really? I was under the impression that NY had a reciprocity agreement with all the other states except Florida so that if you've practiced in one state for about 5 years, you can waive the bar exam.

That's probably why I don't seem to remember him taking the exam for each state. He moved rapidly in the first few years with the company and could have taken them all before five years. Then, too, his first would have been Connecticut and when I met him he was taking his second, New York, before he went on to Rochester, MN, then Atlanta and Lexington. He's now in Tennesee, but retired. He's moving to Alaska.
