;D That sounds like my buddy Joe. There were two Joe Cimo's that worked on the base. One was in the carpenter shop and the other was the one I knew in the fire department. Joe that I knew in the fire department was a chubby critter, like us. The cousin was a physical fitness nut that used to run all the way around the perimeter road every lunch hour with steel toed work boots on. He as a wirey and muscular little bald guy. the only time Joe and I went around perimeter road, was when it was horseradish season. There used to be a patch of wild horseradish growing on the back side of the runway, but they destroyed it when they built the new weapons storage area. Joey and I went out there in a fire department truck one night to pick night crawlers in the old picnic area. Damned if we didn't catch the old civil engineering squadron commander banging his secretary out there. You probably knew him too. He bought a local bar when he retired. You probably know who I mean. I meant to go see Annie when I was up this winter and didn't get the time. As far as I know she is still out in Floyd where they always lived. Small world. You could be right about the fukowee tribe. I have heard him say that when we were rabbit hunting years ago. I thought he was looking for direction, but he could quite well have been wondering about the whereabouts of his relatives!

I know why they converted, but that doesn't justify the worse reporting that came along with it.

The thing that really PMO is that articles like the UCSD budget have no comment section at the bottom, nor does the article pertaining to their upcoming "project". They do what they want where/when/how/why they want to with little regard for anything or anybody. Screw 'em!

That and they delete comments that are not tos violations but certainly go against their views or counter the reactions they're looking for.

Now they have published a story by DeLucca about the Voce kid's letter. This is just grand -- they write a story about a controversy an earlier story created.
Is there any question now about the purpose of the new comment sections?

What was the purpose of DeLucca printing this? This was all covered in YESTERDAY'S PAPER!!!!
Is the "ragsheet" that hard up to fill their newspaper with day old news?
I hope DeLucca has a written contact of employment with this newspaper as I doubt he could find another job anyplace else!!!!!!
On second thought - maybe one of those Grocery Store ragsheets might hire him.
ADDENDUM: I just sent an Email to the OD on their "Contact Us" address asking them why they had to repeat Mr. Voce's son's letter that was published in yesterday's paper. I also asked when they were going to fire Rocco DeLuca!!!!!!
IF and WHEN I get a response, I'll let everyone know what their comment (double talk?) is.

It's obvious they did this new format to create less work and do less real reporting. It's disgusting that this is how our area gets its news.
