My concern was the original article on wktv, which has been removed, said that they'd be bringing the employees with them. I guess that was wrong. Job creation would be great, but I'm not going to be my hopes up yet. I'll do a happy dance if it happens, though.

Great opportunity for the employees that were dumped when the Savings Bank changed hands again! There are plenty of employees experienced in banking in the area.

Clipper, I have to agree with you. (God it hurts when I have to do that! ), but I'm sure they will utilize many who live here with that business background. I'm staying optimistic that all will go through and I will do a "happy dance" right along with Kim when it does. Just love to dance. ;D

You are much older than Kim. How do we tell the difference between your happy dance and a simple case of urinary urgency??? ;D

Clipper - I don't know if Bobbbiez has seen your recent post above, but since I consider her a close friend, I have to warn you 'your comment was out of line". I know I would take offense to a remark like this if it was directed at me. We can kid around but insulting is something else. You owe Barb an apology.

Oh Thelma, you are a very good friend and I do appreciate you defending me , but no need for it when it comes to Clipper. Clipper is a dear friend and we've known each other for many, many moons now. In the past, when we hung out together in the groups we belonged to, we always threw the digs at each other and always walked away from each other with a smile on our faces. I don't take any offense because I know he is kidding around and do enjoy kickin his a-- with my come-back comments. Besides, I'm as guilty as he is giving out the digs, if not more, and don't let him know, but I do always keep the depends within reach. ;D But thank you girlfriend for being such a good friend. It's a really nice feeling to know I have a friend as you who is willing to "watch my back." Got to run. After a long day of meetings, have to get dinner on the table. Catch ya later.

LOL, Thelma! I guess you haven't read some of her remarks to me lately! It is all in good fun. Not to worry!
Take a pill sweetheart. I am sure if Bobbbiez is insulted, she will tell me. She damned sure don't stutter, haha! I would not direct a remark like that to you, because I guess you just don't have the same sick sense of humor that she does, but as Todd says, "the hits just keep on coming", and she is up to bat next. I think if you were a man instead of a liberated woman, you might find some of her remarks to me, to be insulting also, but I don't! We are just busting on each other!
PS: I luv ya and respect ya girl! You are a good friend to defend her, but she is quite capable of beating my ass if she were to get mad, haha.

OK Clipper - as long as Bobbbiez understands these remarks are all in good fun, I will now keep my nose out of the battering that goes on between you two.
Besides, she probably can "beat your ass" better than I ever could!

Hey girlfriend, don't back off now! Jump in any time to give me some back up since Clipper needs Frank, Todd, Dave and whoever to assist him in trying to get one over on me. Your assistance and great wit would be greatly appreciated. ;D Damn, I got to go or I'll be a single lady if I don't feed my man soon.

Dave, I know everyone has moved on but your story on the Ferroxcube plant illustrates a problem that most of us refuse to face. I dealt with Ferroxcube back when there was an American computer industry. They made a precision component for us which became part of a head to read and write data on a floppy disk. The problem that they and my company faced was that the component they made cost more than the last floppy disk drive I bought from Dell.
We (the US) can't compete by being the cheapest. If the imported labor is still too costly, move the entire operation to China & get rid of those pesky OSHA & DEC regs as well.
The problem we won't face: we can be wealthy by maintaining our technological leadership. We have given up our leads in aero-space, computers, telecommunications. We find something suspect or even evil in a partnership between government/military and industry. Maybe, I'm too pessimistic but I don't see my kids generation ever becoming as wealthy as mine.
As an aside, the reason for my slow reply: my internet access for the past week has been extremely limited. The public computer I was forced to use had a nanny program which blocked access to Clipper's Corner. Evidently ther are bad words used here. Who know?

I guess we'll have to clean up our act a bit so Clarence can join us more often.
