I am not a big Apple fan. They are worse than Microsoft. How they can get away with forcing iTunes as the ONLY media software suite for their products and NOT be sued for violating federal anti-trust statutes is beyond me! And closing the system so that only their software, or pre-approved software works on their products?! Come on! That cuts against every grain in my Open Source body!
Until Linux produces a competitive equivalent, I'll stick with my homemade desktop running Ubuntu 10.whatever on a 64-bit architecture, my Lenovo netbook running Fedora 14, and HTC Incredible running Android 2.2.

Oh I know what they mean Chris, it just seems a bit dreary if you ask me.
I always thought that part of the education process at that age was not just the "technical" end, but was to introduce and polish tactile functions and social interactions.
Finger painting is just not finger painting if you don't have you fingers in the paint. Art is not just about the end product, but about the path you travel to get the result.
Kind of like trying to learn Martial Arts by participating with your Wii or X-Box. I'm trying to imagine Kendo or Push Hands in Tai Chi with a Wii, there is just no tactile connection....nothing "real" happens.
It may be fun as an adult, or in high school where you need to complete a lot of reading and paperwork, but at that stage of education (IMO) it is just as important to learn the mechanics as well. Touching a screen and touching the paint are as related as apples and stones.

Gotcha Ralph....I myself have trouble relating to a Wii....I would prefer the real thing than standing in front of the TV flailing my arms all about...probably would knowck myself out in the process.
I just read yesterday that the what ipad owners use most on their ipad is for gaming...go figure.

Swimmy I agree with you about iTunes. Yet they seem to be numero uno in that field.
Cisco is ending their production of flip phones. Does not seem like they know what they are doing business wise. Wise move or not ...time will tell.

Cisco should stick to their Internet hardware products.
