I said it when they first passed this ban, ban everything, from changing CDs, applying make-up, shaving, to eating, and cellphone talking, etc. If driver safety is truly what the state had in mind!

I like the cell phone versus driving drunk story. And I always believe Myth Busters.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic and poking fun. But think about it for a second. How many times have you had to put the phone down to maneuver the car, or told someone to hold on as you merged or changed lanes? You're primary focus should be the road. You are, after all, driving a couple hundred pound machine that is capable of killing or seriously maiming others. When you're talking on the phone, your attention is primarily focused on the conversation, not the road. How many close calls does it take before you realized you can't talk and drive at the same time, let alone text and drive. Whether talking on a phone is truly worse than being drunk is irrelevant. The point is that talking on the phone is dangerous. If the person you're on the phone with was in the car, they would gage their conversation based on the traffic. It's hard to explain but there is a difference. Any case, I'm done trying to make my point. My brain is fried tonight.

No, I completely agree with you. That's why I said that I didn't believe it until it happened to me. I almost drove head-on into someone while talking on a cellphone, and it wasn't even an upsetting call. And I've seen people driving with cell phones in their ears who are driving worse than drunk. I absolutely agree that cell phone driving can be worse than drunk driving, now that it happened to me. And I really do believe Myth Busters. Well, except for the time they fired the dummy over the Canadian border, but it is still my favorite episode. Dave

My apologies, I missed that post where you mentioned your own personal experience.
That was a funny episode. I liked when they blew up the cement truck to remove the dried cement from the inside. Absolutely hilarious, one second it's there, next second, BOOM, no truck.

I love myth busters.
As for talking on the phone while driving...I don't usually have my phone even ON while driving! The few times I have talked on the phone while driving it's been very short, and usually for good reason, like I'm calling 911 because there is a tree on fire on Scott Road or what looks like a body lying on the side of the road on I-85. The body thing happened just over a month ago. I swear it looked like a body. I called 911 and the operator told me that they have received several phone calls about that already and the police were on the way. I never heard anything else about it so I'm assuming it wasn't a body. At least I hope it wasn't!
