I don't see anything wrong with noting the passing of a celebrity. People like celebrities for the most part. If they didn't, the celebrity wouldn't be much of a celebrity. I was just offering the thought that celebrity and notoriety are not the same and that Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor Hilton Wilding Todd Fisher Burton Burton (again) Warner Fortensky led a life that most of us would not recommend to our daughters. And that it must have been an emotionally painful life.

Actually, I think the only reason she (along with so many celebrities of yesteryear) married so many times was because it wasn't "right" to live with someone. Now, they just live with each other & move on to the next, no license needed.
Liz probably would have done the same in this day & age, & avoided all the legal & financial mess.
"Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" was my favorite LT movie, with "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" a close second.

My favorites were National Velvet and A Place In The Sun, but I did enjoy most all her films.

You are right about the many contributions they make to the entertainment world BZ. I am simply glad that if their personal lives are what results from fame and fortune that I never achieved either. My younger days were enough of a disaster without greasing the wheel with a pocket full of unlimited cash to spend on my immorality.

I presume most of us want to form life-long attachments, but that isn't always possible. Thank goodness today it's easier to split, rather than suffering through a nightmare. Except where if the couple had tried a little hard or longer it would have worked. But how would they know? I never considered leaving Mrs. Dave. I asked if she felt the same, but she coughed and spit out her coffee which I took to mean she had never, ever given it a thought.
