We have our daffodils, our tulips, and the grass greening up, but it is never really spring here in Bristol until we see motorhomes and race team haulers streaming down Volunteer Parkway, bringing money to our local economy and excitement to the visiting fans. The campgrounds are full, the motels are full. The economy is having an impact on ticket sales, but doesn't seem to be hurting it too badly.
We live close enough to the speedway that with the windows open today, and the weather sunny and in the 70's, we can hear the thunder from the track echoing through Carden Hollow and in through our windows and screen door.
Any NASCAR fans among our new members?

Clipper, you'd get along great with my oldest boy Vinny. Just like his dad, he eats, sleeps and sh*ts Nascar. His knowledge of the Nascar world in a contest on a local radio station won him an all-expense weekend trip to the Poconos for the race there last summer. You'd give me a break cause I'm not crazy about Nascar but still have to watch the races just so he can talk to me about them.. ;D

I am not the fan I used to be. I don't watch every week anymore, other than to check in on the race every 20 minutes or so to see who is leading.
