I don't know.... I guy who can't get himself re-elected and who has made enemies in both local parties is going advise others on how to win local elections. Good luck with that. Larry is better off developing a real skill with a future instead of scheming to get a seat back at the public trough. We have enough of those in Utica. Sorry if that sounds harsh, nothing personal, but Larry needs to move on.

I agree Joe. I just saw it in the OD and thought I would throw it up on here and see what people had to say about it. I wonder how successful he would be with his "less than stellar" relationship with the local media, especially the newspaper. He has built a couple of decent websites for himself over the last few years, but he has also had some less than professional grade sites also. I guess I would wish him success, and hope that he doesn't get flighty at a critical point in anyone's campaign, haha. I always liked Larry, but was pretty disappointed when he went a little nutsy when he lost the election. That is just my personal opinion.

I was not a member of the lunatic fringe until AFTER I was in the Marxist study group at Utica College followed by a stint as a member of the Socialist Labor Party via my association with a Syracuse University professor who shall remain unnamed. ;D
(And NO, LT is in no group of which I am involved, damn it!)
Now, in honor of the anniversary of Elvis' death, "Pass the mashed potatoes, please".

I wish Larry well, but corner is right in advising Larry to complete school. The temptation to lead is all well and good, but leadership takes preparation in both study and experience. IMHO, of course.

Very true Dave. I was thinking along the same lines. One should have not only an education, but some work experience before taking a shot at the top of the organizational chart. That should also have held true for the President of the United States, hehe.
I enjoyed and encouraged Larry's efforts to expose corruption at the county level, but actually, he needs to have WORKED somewhere and LIVED for a while before tackling any leadership position or future political office. He has never had a job that wasn't either in politics or a political appointment of one sort or another. More is required to be a successful office holder than the ability to find chinks in the armor of other office holders and to expose those chinks. Some other form of material productivity that actually benefits the taxpayers would be nice.
I laud his ambition, but ambition is only one factor in formulating a successful political career. With a little more education, and some experience, he may even discover that politics is not where he wants to be, and may get to point where he is decides to focus on something with a future. There is no future in politics in CNY unless you are part of the "local machine" and Larry has already burned too many bridges to be welcomed into THAT fold. Showing a lack of loyalty to "the party" did nothing to further is chances of success.

I have to agree with all of you. One can never have too much education, but can definitely have too little. I also believe invaluable things can be learned from others who have taken the same path, but a person has to open their ears & listen.

the boy has never finished anything he started including college, and to the best of my knowledge never held a real job, and being a county legislator does not count as a job a hobby maybe but not a job>

He had some job with the city under the Julian administration for a couple of months, but I forgot what it was.
