China Humiliated Obama at Copenhagen and Obama let them get away with it. (Did he have a choice?)"The truth of the matter is that I am not convinced man’s affect on global warming is proven science, but I am dead certain China is an environmental nightmare and American politicians from Nixon forward sold out to Wall Street and collectively jumped the shark with the Chinese. "It is appalling to me to see what they are doing unopposed in the US and in Latin America. The Chinese are intellectual property pirates and have used the west to build an industrial and soon to be, an economic and military colossus. The Chinese choose an American industry to target and compete with that industry by stripping away all safety and environmental common sense rules, all legislated regulation, all worker social programs and bring products to the United States that no domestic producers can replicate at similar prices. "The US policies toward China have been diabolical to the point that the only way a US company can compete is to close US factories and set up new facilities in China. The Chinese recycle the dollars into a military expansion and a colonization effort on a global scale. The government of the United States of American let them get away with it." "The fruits of this folly became clear to a rookie US president in Copenhagen. I sincerely hope that Obama learned a lesson. Read this story and tell me if you share my indignation." i think obama does a good job of humiliating himself and clearly his lack of viable experience and general lack luster performance as aperson. i think the world views him as weak and ineffective and uses all of the above to their own advantage

Well, there isn't any evidence I know of to prove you wrong, Corner. I hate to pick on the guy ... no, I really do ... because although I didn't vote for him, I was willing to give him a chance when he got elected. I never expect much in Presidents, anyway. Normally, if they achieve greatness, it's while they're in office.

But China has been an emerging superpower that no one has done anything about for the past 15 years.

Swimmy, you're right about China. Nothing has been done and will be done now that they've financed most of our economy.
We've gotten ourselves between a rock and a hard place. Put tarriffs on goods and we end up paying for it, and we're called protectionists. Don't do it and we still end up paying for it, with manufacturing, jobs and exports.
I don't have an answer for it, however China is a superpower, who it looks like, owns us from within.

It just makes me mad to know that while China was building up its status as a superpower juggernaut, our own "leaders" were too busy squabbling over petty partisan politics. And China has bought so much of our debt, that if they collected, they would own the continental US without having ever fired a single shot!
