Could be. Actually, it smacks of someone gone wild with a computerized thesaurus. This may be evidence of editing done overseas by persons familiar with, but tone deaf to the English language. E.g., "declivitous" is a real word, but Microsoft Word's dictionary doesn't recognize it and it is hardly in general use. I think that was part of Koziol's reason for his suit.
I take back my positive remarks about the story being worthwhile. After I made the comment, the story line untwisted into a few parallel strands and none of them really went anywhere. At the very end the President of the United States takes a call from a sort of hero in the book, a hardworking trail watcher in the Adirondacks who has news of the terrorism plot. (!) This call prepares the President of the United States to take a call next day from the main terrorist and verbally spar with him as two high school boys might before a soccer match. Not very believable. Nor interesting.
Anyway, I've finished the book and will now put it on eBay for $100. I paid $20, but there are companies asking $80 used through Amazon! And no, I don't know why.

WHAT???!!!! It costs less than that on-line, even through Amazon, doesn't it? And yeah~~I had to look declivitous up. Who the hell uses that word? Dave, you could make a fortune with your writings if this is any indication of what's out there... ~~Stoney, off to have a glass of declivitous beer.
