I told ya that we needed Stoney's more liberal side of things, haha. I was a McCain supporter, but could never quite get enthused with the Palin side of the ticket. I worried about the same thing that most people did. If McCain died what the hell would we do with her in the driver's seat, haha. The only thing scarier than that would be for Pelosi to end up in the driver's seat.

We love ya kiddo! Why would we hate you for expressing an opinion? That is what makes the world go around. Don't be shy or feel guilty for having an opinion. The world would have long ago spun out of control and crashed if there were not a balance of opposing opinions on issues. How boring life would be if we always agreed on everything. Actually, having you back, and having you offering up your more liberal opinions is a great thing. It gives us all the opportunity and kinda forces us to look at the "other side" of the issues. THAT is a GOOD thing.

"Why would we hate you for expressing an opinion?"
Actually, what I wrote in the letter is absolute fact. Many people just don't want to believe it.

Stoney, "YOU GO GIRL!" I'll be looking to see your letter to the Ed. ;D Don't ever be afraid of voicing your opinion. That's what makes the world go round and does change people's views in many issues. I have always practiced what my Dad felt was important for his four girls to know. He always told us, "don't ever be afraid to fight for what you believe in, even if you find yourself standing alone." It's great advice and has gotten me through some rough times and has made me a stronger person. Thanks Pop!

Palin & Bush make a good pair. Neither one of them have enough sense to come in out of the rain. Although I will give Palin credit for knowing that she is now a commodity & can cash in on her notoriety. Some people will do anything for money. Stoney, Palin got pissed when Couric asked her about books because she didn't want to reveal that the last book she read was Little Women back in the 8th grade.

OK, I find myself forced into a position of fairness, so I'll try to warm to the position of apologist for Sarah Palin. First, a disclaimer: I didn't vote for her. I didn't vote. I don't vote unless there's somebody running I want to win. I think that's very American of me and I'm proud of it. I would not be proud to go down to the polls and vote for someone I didn't like. I come to that opinion by reading the likes of the Founding Fathers.
Anyway, back to Palin.
Kracker, if you were running for vice president and Katie Couric asked you which books you had read, would you: A. threaten to get the Secret Service after her B. cross your fingers behind your back and say, "all of 'em." C. become annoyed at being quizzed like a schoolboy D. lean over and look down the front of her dress

It's probably a step above "If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?" but only a small step.
How many people voted for or against JFK based on the fact that he enjoyed reading Ian Flemming?
If I were to ask you to vote for me (please don't) would you be influenced by knowing that the last 2 authors I read were Kim Stanley Robinson & Edgan Allan Poe?

OK, Mrs. Dave says I did in fact vote. She says she took me to the polls. Guess it wasn't very memorable. Maybe if she had taken me out for pizza afterwards .....
And I don't remember who won the volleyball game in Little Women.

LOL!! They didn't put my ltr. in today. I hope they're not going to print it on Thanksgiving, as people will be outside my door with torches & nooses.

Can we see OD Letters to the Editor on line? My OD paperboy who flew down here in a bi-plane and dropped the paper from 1200 feet just retired.
