It is time for our compromising president to realize that our military decisions need to be made by military leaders, schooled and experienced in such matters.
Obama wants to "negotiate" every issue with everyone involved. He always wants to only come "half way".
The troop levels in Afghanistan are not an issue that can be negotiated and compromised on, while young American lives are at risk if not supported fully.
He can play his political games with issues of legislation and healthcare issues, but military decisions need to be left to military leaders.
If generals want 65,000 troops, we need to send them 65,000 troops. I am confident that good military planning went into reaching that figure. I am also sure that a general responsible for the lives of those young soldiers is not going to risk any higher number than necessary.
This arrogant young president, with zero military experience or service, is playing a very dangerous game of Texas Hold'em with your son's and husbands as chips while his military planning and strategy experience level only qualifies him to play old maid or go fish.
The Washington post says today that the generals want 65,000 and Obama wants to negotiate it down to 45,000, while Biden wants to send only a fraction of that number.
Don't take my opinions of Obama and the democrats as a lack of patriotism. There have been many democrats over the years that I respected and trusted. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are not included in that category.
My worries are for our security and safety. I don't trust our country's safety to a president that is too young, too naive and too over confident to serve as a world leader. To a president who thinks he knows all, and will pay no heed to history nor advice from those he has hired to advise.
The white house reports today that it has notified Afghan leaders that American presence is not an open ended issue, and that our involvement will eventually come to an end. I agree one hundred percent with that statement, but we need to equip and support those troops serving there to the maximum until that mission is complete.
