My kids band had their 1st gig Saturday.
Tramonte Cafe in Utica is a pretty cool place. Sat on a couch and had Italian Soda while watching him. (He's the drummer)

I imagine they were all excited and elated with their first Gig and will always remember that one. Pretty talented group....and I'm sure Pop sitting and sipping on his Italian Soda (which was ?) was mighty proud of the boys. How old are they. They look very young...high school age???

Chris, it was some kind of Italian Brand of soda. My family is from Eastchewtica and I remember my grandparents having that.
My son is 18, Bass player is only 15, singer is 17 and the other guita player with the broken foot is also 17. They are all students of Ben Salzman who is in the band Showtime. He's been going to him for 7 years now.
They actually made some cash too which surprised them. The need to learn more songs cause everyone wanted them to play "one more song" a couple times.
Here's another one.

Oh yes. I remember the real "eastchewtica" well. I had the italian soda once years ago at the Salumeria (sp) on James St. I used to live next door to that market and lived on their imported deli meats and their homebaked bread. Many years ago, I was coming to Tennessee to see my folks, and a person who had migrated here from Eastchetica wanted a large provolone. I bought him one that weighed about 40 or 50 pounds that was hanging from the ceiling in a rope net.
I can't remember the name of the Italian soda either, and I don't even remember what flavor it was. He had a small fridge with a paper sign on the door of it with the name, flavors and prices on it. I can picture the little round topped fridge, but not the brand name.

My grandparents lived in the 700 block of Nichol St. There was a grocery store @ Mary & Nichol that had all kind of goodies in there. Marangi's maybe? It was too many years ago.

Gee that was my neighborhood. St Stans at the end of Eliz. but I don't remember a store at the corner of Nichol and Mary. There was at Mary and Kossuth (Catherine's) and George's at the corner of Eliz and Kossuth. There was another grocery store on the corner about a block up from Catherine's on the opposite side just past St. Anthony's school.

My grampa ran Baleno Studio out of his house for probably 50 years. He was in the 700 block of Nichol St. which is between Blandina and Mary. Remember that?

SRY Clipper. No go on the country music.
I believe that Kowalczyk Funeral Home. It's in the 8 or 900 block of Elizabeth right near Nichol.

Yep, that is the right funeral home. Gee, I am simply crushed by the idea that your boys would not play even ONE Dwight song for me, haha. Why am I not surprised? My kids all tell me to turn down that "twangy tear jerking crap" whenever they get into my truck, and they are much older than your kids, LOLOL! I am glad that your boys take and interest in ANY kind of music. The type of music is irrelevant as long as they take the time to develop the talents necessary to play their instruments, and the personality and courage to go out and play in a public venue. Congrats on good looking and talented kids. They obviously have inherited your talent and THEIR MOTHER'S LOOKS, hahahahaha!

No funeral home that I remember in either 800 or 900 block of Elizabeth or close by. I lived in the 900 block. Kowalczyk is on Lincoln Ave. and Sansone's is 933 Elizabeth. Wonder if this was built after I moved away in 1980. Baleno Studios, was he the photographer. I had him do my passport photos.

Yeah, sorry it's Sanzone. Right near the corner.
Baleno Studio was my grampa, He took 1000's of passports. I remember people coming in all the time getting them. When he passed away, my mom got rid of so many pictures people never picked up, wedding albums, and just so much stuff.
