I see what you're saying. But we all see how effective the hands-free law has been. Why not prosecute a few people who caused deaths due to their texting while driving>

I haven't figured that part out. My hope would be that one successful prosecution against a texter who caused a death would be enough of a chilling effect to dissuade people from texting while driving.

I guess we'll eventually figure out cell phone etiquette as we did being interrupted by children. But we couldn't put them on vibrate.

It was either last summer or the summer before we had a horrific car accident on Rt 390. A car load of teenage girls headed to a graduation party were all killed. They said they were texting an msut have lost control of the car in doing so. Since that accident we have had many people trying to get laws made to ban texting. Good idea but I seriously doubt it will ever be enforced just as cell phones aren't. And by the way since when did the law to not signal when driving go into effect. Absolutely no one signals any more. I'm not a mind reader. It's damm scarry being on the road with all these bad drivers.

Are you talking about the two suvs full of teeny boppers and how the one rear ended the other and ejected several occupants from the rear vehicle to through the lead vehicle and beyond? I believe the driver admitted she was texting back and forth and they were speeding too, if I recall correctly. Tragic story.
I too hate the no signal people. Or the ones who signal they are turning left but veer all the way to the right. I never know if they mistakenly signaled left, are dyslexic, or being stupid.
