I'll have to check it out.
I have a brand new HP Pavilion Special Edition desktop waiting to be hooked up, but still in the box. I imagine it has the newest version of Norton on it for trial and all that crap.
Just trying to get my office back together and get a third monitor for it before I set it all up and do some test runs with it.
It will be my first PC with Vista on it, so I am eager to see what will amaze me and what will disappoint me at the same time!
Vista I must admit had to "grow on me". At first I was disapointed to learn that many programs aren't compatible with Vista. For example, I used Nero 7 ultra for my burning software. Well Nero 7 is not compatible so I had to buy Nero 9. I also found the start menu strange and confusing. However, I was able to set the start menu to the "classic" start menu and that solved that problem for me (left click on task bar > Properties > Start menu tab > Classic). What I like about Vista is the extreme ease of networking. It is so much easier with Vista compared to XP to find wireless networks, set up a home network, file and printer sharing and so on. Another thing I like is the Windows side bar. In my screen shot it's at the right with the clock. You can add as any widgets as you like to suit your needs. Also, if you've ever had Windows explorer stop working with XP, you invariably found yourself restarting your system. In Vista, it automatically restarts explorer and returns you to what you were doing without losing any data you may have been working on. Like I said, ya gotta learn to love it, but it's not hard.
