Friends of mine at SUNY Oswego years ago had gone to Morrisville Ag and Tech, as it was called at the time. They told of great parties and wild times. Looks like that spirit goes back at least to 1917.

I found only a few references to Sweet in the old newspapers. A few involve his name in draft board activity relative to the war, one of which appears below. The second mention in the papers was his obituary in 1949. On January 12, 1918, three months after sustaining life threatening injuries, Daniel Waterman Sweet came again before the draft board, but was exempted due to physical disability But given his excellent physical condition, he no doubt left for the war within the year. His obit mentions his membership in the American Legion.
