Congrats to the New Hartford's hockey team the Spartans in their 4-1 win over Skaneateles last night. Great season kids! We are all very proud of you and all the hard work you put in this season. ;D Now keep on that roll and bring home the Title on Sunday after you kick Corcoran rumps. GO ALL THE WAY, SPARTANS!

I listened to the game on WIBX on my way home last night. New Hartford's first three goals were made on power plays. In each case, Skaneateles had committed a penalty while on their own power play and ended up handing golden opportunities to the Spartans!

Everyone is telling me it was a very exciting game. Sorry I missed it. That's how many games are lost by the best. Taking too many stupid penalties. It is a big part of the game to drawn penalties on the other team but ya just can't do it in front of the ref. ;D How well I know that. My son in his college days was known as the "penalty box king," and I have all the pictures to prove it.

Is that the son that cross-checked, high-sticked and boarded me on the party barge?

No, actually it's the one you said, "yay," to in another topic. Anthony is the hockey player. Eddie was the one on the party barge. He sucks in sports and he'll be the first to admit it, so he avoids most. Let me assure you though, Eddie can still deliver some pretty mean cross-checks, high sticking and can board someone without the skates. ;D Hey, if you still plan on coming to the UPD/State Police benefit game on March 5, you'll be in the middle of them all.

Hey Sweetie, the last thing I saw you, it didn't appear you needed pads. ;D Will give you a land-line on Wednesday to set up where to meet ya at the game. PS: Bring some ear plugs cause I'll be ringing my little cow bell when the UPD scores.

lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds good to me. At least, I won't be the only one my kids will move away from during the game. Hey, we'll find out today if the N.Hartford Spartans bring home the Championship. The game starts at 1pm and Time Warner is suppose to televise it live on channel 95. If they do, you know what I'll be watching. GO ALL THE WAY SPARTANS!!!!!!!!! ;D

WOW!!!!!!!!! What an outstanding victory or should I say slaughter. "NEW HARTFORD SPARTANS" bring home the State Championship with their win over the Corcoran Cougars 9-0 assisting their goalie, Dylan Smith, in having a shutout game. They played their hearts out. Their penalty killing squad was awesome scoring three short handed goals. Spartan's Mike Zalewski, awarded most valuable player for the Championship game, scored a hat trick plus another goal, which I classify as all damn "pretty." WAY TO GOOD SPARTANS! You gave us an outstanding game and victory. Thank you for putting the Utica/Rome area on the map again. You are all our stars on ice. ;D The Championship game was held in Syracuse and I thought it was pretty cool that the TV announcers of the game congratulated the fans of the Utica/Rome area for being very good supportive fans and packing the arena.

Regardless, WTG, Spartans!

The game wasn't on Time-Warner in Rome so I listened on the radio. Later in the day, they showed the West Genesee - Baldwinsville game. I believe New Hartford could have won that division too.

Yep, I agree. The N.Hartford Spartans are an awesome team and I haven't seen a team "that" good in a very long time. Sorry you couldn't get the game. Ya missed a great one for sure. The moves those kids were making were better then I've seen in the pro games. Their passing was fantastic and right on during the whole game. Scoring nine goals proves that. Pretty, pretty goals. If ya know what i mean. Sad to think for most of them it is their last year since they're seniors, but they deserve all the credit and praise we can give them before they play their last game together. ;D
