Majority Leader Smith says State Senate lacks gay marriage votes ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York Senate Majority Leader Malcolm Smith says his Democratic conference lacks enough votes to legalize gay marriage this year, but he's committed to passing a gay marriage bill soon. Democratic Governor David Paterson and the Democrat-controlled Assembly have been supportive of a gay marriage bill that was blocked by the Senate's former Republican majority. www.wktv.com/news/local/39285467.htmlNow, I have to ask. Wouldn't you think this should be determined by a plebiscite?

I guess that politicians in Albany have been sticking it in taxpayer's butts for so long, they have come to believe that it is an accepted practice and should carry over into marriage between two people of the same sex. It WILL pass eventually, and when it does, Pennys and Sears will have to stock brown bed sheets because the old fashion "wet spot" will be a thing of the past, replaced by?? Oh dear! Gee, I may invent a headboard with a toilet paper roller incorporated, replacing the reading lights or mirrors. I'll name it after the Minnesota politician that taps his toes under the partitions of men's room stalls. I will be rich.

In the interests of accuracy, Larry Craig represented Idaho in the Senate. He was arrested in Minnesota. I'll go and put my U of M sweatshirt on now. Talk amongst yourselves.
