Nice Job Larry . . . on both the Video and what you are doing for us taxpayers!
Do I detect that some of the Utica legislators are finally getting wise to how Utica is being screwed by the County? If so, you can take credit for that.
The consent order is a disaster, and was a disaster when first proposed and then accepted with virtually NO opportunity for public study and imput ("Thank You" Mr. Hertline - not).

Thanks Strike. I agree about the consent order. Leon said that when he was running, along with you a several others, but no one seemed to listen. Now no one will hold him accountable for it and will just brush it all off as usual.
I am staying cautiously optimistic regarding the rest of the Utica legislators. Unfortunately there are about 3 or 4 that simply won't buck the system. But we do have more now than ever before willing to stand up. And you're right about Mr. Hertline too. He was never a Democrat (nor a Republican for that matter). He simply enjoyed the Boys Club for three decades. I heard the other day that he got a county job, but I will have to confirm that.

Larry, I was delighted to see a story in the Rome Sentinel that the Democrat legislators were going to conduct a "Saturday listening tour" to give more opportunities for county citizens to speak to them.
I usually only get to my own representative every few months (that's a write-only operation) or to the full legislature once a year at the budget hearings after they have all made up their minds but just before the vote.
Based on the size of the property tax bill I am forced to scrounge some money to pay next month, I clearly have not been communicating effectively with you folks. I welcome any opportunity to improve on my message.

lol, Frank. That's great. I can't stop laughing, but it is a serious issue. I actually reccomended that we do this a couple months ago. I thought it would be a good oppurtunity for the rest of the group to hear what the real people of this county feel about their government. Too many politicians get caught up in the bubble and think that whatever other politicians and politicos are saying is reflective of the entire communitty. I think it's important to stay grounded to the people. I hope this works. If nothing else, it can't hurt.
