We're due for 5 to 8 inches here tongiht, beginning this afternoon. Here is radar ten minutes ago: It's just to the south of me.
Accumulation in Utica area will be about half that. And you're running about ten degrees F. colder than us at the moment.

Yeah, it's pretty cold here too. About 50 and drizzling rain, LOL. I wonder sometimes if I would rather have a light dusting of pretty, white, snow than dreary gray days and rain. We used to light the pellet stove, make some homemade soup and look out the window at the winter wonderland when we got one of those pretty snows that turned everything clean and white, like in a Rockwell painting. Then I would return to reality, put on my Carharts, ski mask and boots and go freeze my ass off, snowblowing the driveway, LOLOL!

One thing to say after reading the weather forecast: "BRRR" This from someone who was born in North Dakota... in January.

I took a course in atmospheric physics when I was in grad school. Without a doubt, the hardest course I ever took. I was the top student in the class only because the other 4 students switched to auditing the class after two weeks. i guess I qualified as "alpha geek".
The one thing I still retain from the class is that you can be right about 1/3 of the time by predicting that tomorrow will be like today. Everything beyond that is gravy.

I loved making snow angels but I always have bad luck. The last time I did it I laid down on a pile of dog poop which was hidden under a little snow.

I loved making snow angels but I always have bad luck. The last time I did it I laid down on a pile of dog poop which was hidden under a little snow. I always got my little brother to lay down first. Then I'd ask him to move over and do one for me. Little brothers can be quite useful. Today, however, he still reminds me how much I owe him. For all the times he did my paper route, for all the times he didn't tell, for the one time he didn't mention the girl in the car.
