Exactly Corner. She is hardly qualified politically, just in the picture because of her family name. She will be in trouble, because Uncle Teddy is not going to be around much longer to guide her and dictate her political decisions on behalf of the "family". I have a theory that the only reason he has survived his brain cancer THIS long is because the cancer is still munching it's way through all the DEAD brain cells that he killed with scotch, and hasn't reached any that are ALIVE or VITAL to sustaining life yet.
I don't wish anything bad on anyone, and would not wish brain cancer on my worst enemy, but at the same time, I cannot muster a lot of sympathy for that despicable drunk and blowhard. Only God himself can judge him, but I only base my personal opinion of the man on his cowardly act at Chappequidick in "protecting the sacred Kennedy name".

Hillary was the worst yet. She was elected just because she had been first lady. She did nothing for New York State. So far, no one has ever been able to tell me one thing that she did for New York State.
I don't see the point of disliking Caroline Kennedy just because she is a Kennedy.
P.S. I am a registered Republican.

Denise, I am also a registered Republican but it means nothing. I will always vote for the person, (as I openly did for Obama), who I feel is best qualified and not for their party affiliation. Pretty sure those days of just voting a party line is gone. Gotta keep things real. Caroline is still a Kennedy and brought up as such. Clipper stated it pretty well. Sorry to point fingers at the deceased but her Mother was no angel and definitely a Kennedy, especially in her younger days. Quiet and dignified does not mean untainted. It just meant in Jackie's case that she learned through all the Kennedys to be more sneaky and to hide her not-so-good activities. We don't need another Kennedy in any position. Besides, they would only put Caroline in one because of her name and her money and that is a political fact. I do agree with you completely about Hillary, but now thanks to Obama she is no longer our problem here in NYS and she will, with her new position, be out of the country most of the time. Alleluia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

I never said Caroline was untainted, but I'm not going to judge her because of what her family name is. I think she has many fine qualities and is a good choice for Senator.
In the event that she does get appointed, and at next election time the Republican party comes up with a viable candidate to run against her (something that they have not been able to do in I don't know when), I'll rethink my position at that time.
(Wow, I've managed to say all of this without a whole bunch of smiley faces.)

I assume you also mean appointing, Corner. Well, millionaires are the only folks who can afford to get their name in front of us through advertising and publicity. They're the only ones with enough money to buy help from the political machines that run the state. And many times, they're the only ones so sure of themselves because there is no one to tell them they're stupid, like someone should tell Tom Cruise.

Old Joe, grandpa to Caroline. He began the Kennedy dynasty. Took all his money out of the stock market early in 1929 when a shoeshine boy gave him a great stock tip, causing him to begin to doubt his own market advisers. Thought Hitler a great leader, who would save us all from communism, and especially Joe Stalin, who scared the bejesus out of industrialists who thought he might empower working men with socialism. There was reason for fear, certainly. Stalin went on to murder millions of people who got in his way or disagreed with him. Millions ..., possibly more than those killed in the Jewish Holocaust. Joe had a son who he thought would make the perfect POTUS, and he began to grease the skids for the boy's entry into politics. But Joe. Jr. was killed in WW2 and his younger brother, Jack, took the reins. Jack, the one with probably more vices than his brothers. The Kennedy's have many predilections, but their most notable is getting killed. So, pray for Caroline. But when you are finally offered the opportunity in six years, don't vote for her.

Margaret Carlson quotes from a NY Daily News interview of Caroline Kennedy. Asked about tax cuts, she says, "“Well, you know, that’s something, obviously, that, you know, in principle and in the campaign, you know, I think that, um, the tax cuts, you know, were expiring and needed to be repealed.” You could fault me for quoting the "you know's," but even without them her answer is quite lame. And please note that Caroline's terrible showing in this interview will NOT result in the press investigating how much money was spent on HER wardrobe, as was the case for Sarah Palin. Now we know why Caroline's handlers whisked her away from reporters last week before she could answer questions. They should have kept her locked up. Other than my almost in-born disgust with her family, I think what truly upsets me is that my United States Senator, who is supposed to be the man or woman I elect and send to Washington as my most powerful protector against a gargantuan government, will evidently soon be an inexperienced puppet of the Democratic party. In a farce unthinkable just a few years ago, an unaccomplished woman whose family has been made royalty by an uneducated media, will be appointed by a governor who also was not elected, but rather assumed the throne when his predecessor was throttled by political enemies over the act of "lying with a prostitute." (And I certainly didn't feel sorry for him.) And all this in a state that is probably owned by the Chinese. Think about THAT the next time you pay your taxes.
