The pain medicine was hacked? Or is that an erroneous link?

There was a brief mention of this on the evening news the other night.
Some sick puppy will pull it off sooner or later and wind up killing someone.

Why does this not surprise me? Where does these loser's get the time to think this shit up? I barely have enough time to go to work and accomplish the every day task on hand. This is really disturbing because some people like my father-in law's pacemaker is his heart. If the pacemaker stops, then he stops. It is not a supplement for his heart it is his heart. The sad part is we actually have laws that help protect these scum bags.

My father-in-law has a pace maker, too. And my son has a cochlear implant, although I don't know if those those could be hacked, and if they were it wouldn't be lift threatening. But yeah...people do sit around and think up ways to be evil, don't they?

Todd - You are a correction officer. You should know that these criminals have all the time in the world to just sit and think of ways to do something illegal. And even with well thought out plans - they still get caught!

It's not the criminals. But hired assassins. It's interesting the story suggested the plot line was something a far-fetched sci-fi author would depict. I recall seeing a movie where something happened causing everyone's pacemaker or insulin injector to malfunction and kill whomever was on such a device. It was on Sci-fi at like 3.
Yeah, sometimes I can't sleep, so I channel surf.

I believe the article was referring to the newer devices that have wireless capabilities to transmit data to an assigned Doctor, and there will be some in the future that can be adjusted by the Dr. as well.
These are the ones that will be in danger of hacking, not only for personal data gain, but for the fact that they can be disrupted.
Face it............there are people out there that just live to make other people lives miserable.

The first criminal trial for reckless endangerment, manslaughter or murder should prove interesting.
