"Wait a second!!!!- Obama did not win in a land slide- he won 52% of the Popular vote which means that about 1/2 of America did not vote for him. "Ahh...But the rest of us did, baby. ;D Kind of reminds you of what happened the last two elections, huh? There were just no hanging chads this time. Except then the popular vote went to the Democrats though we had to live with Dubya for 8 grueling years..

Hey Bobbbiez! Welcome back! I didn't know you and Stoney were Democrats. That's OK, I still love you. The real scary part of last night's hoopla as Obama was declared victor, was the camera coming back again and again to shots of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton! Obama surely realizes these guys would be extremely divisive in his "new nation." I wonder how he'll handle them. I think President Obama should name Jesse ambassador to France and Al Sharpton as ambassador to the Vatican, where he can do a rap on B16. Benedict the 16th has already said of Al, "Vee vill take care uff himm !" That's sort of like 'Hasta La Vista, Baby!" from the governator.

Gee, I might have had to piss out on the bay of pigs too, if I was humping Marilyn Monroe, LOL. I seldom saw the Yankee Clipper without a smile. I really don't think we will ever know the true reason that Kennedy was killed. I think it was a combination of things, a few of which were being young, catholic, and charismatic. Another being that I am not positive that LBJ wasn't involved in a conspiracy with the CIA Who the heck knows or has much concern anymore. the only problem with the Kennedy's is that they didn't get the third and most dangerous one of all.

Yepper Corner, you are correct. Maybe that's what he was crying about. Never saw such crocodile tears. He's such a phony!

Stoney, I to would like Obama to distant himself away from Sharpton & Jackson but keeping with his promise, he has to represent all in this great country, (even if they don't deserve that courtesy.) ;D I don't envy him having to deal with them but he is one tough customer and I know he'll deal with them in the proper way. Have to admit, when Jesse Jackson first came on the scene years ago I was impressed with him and his desires for improvements in this country, but throughout the years I lost respect for the man completely.

I just am hoping for the best. Time will tell. I simply didn't like some of the mysterious shit in his closet. Those things haven't been dispelled completely yet. I know he is a brilliant young man, but we will have to see if he is up to the task that he so eloguently spoke to in the campaign.
I think it is wonderful that we have the first black president of the United States, I simply wish it had been someone with more experience going into the office, and not someone who will have to learn to lead as we go along.
After the first gulf war when Saddam invaded Kuwait, I said that Colin Powell would have made a wonderful first black president. I actually hoped to see him run, but his integrity was compromised by Bush, and he simply took his integrity and left, while it was in tact. His personal integrity was worth more to him than a job.
Contrary to the beliefs of some, I think that Colin Powell and General Swartzcoff are two of the most brilliant military minds in the history of this country. One of those two might have made the whole world a different place if they had been appointed secretary of defense. Saddam had to go, and it could have been done with surgical precision by either of those two men.
I am going to give him a chance and see what his attitude is now that the negativity of the campaign trail is behind him, and he HAS to address the issues that he promised to address. The proof will be in the pudding. Personally, I was voting more for homeland security and the handling of the war in Iraq, than on economic issues. I could afford another term of the economy, if we still have a country that is safe from attack and our soldiers are victorious in Iraq. I personally think too many people voted their wallets, while letting other important issues slide.

Horrors and sheer fear! Bobbbiez and Stoney! This is a duo to be reckoned with if I ever saw one. Holy crap batman, hang on to your leotards!
I had to stop and think a minute. Bobbbiez sounded familiar, but she had not been on here in so damn long I thought sure she had croaked or moved to the Bahamas or something. Now I remember. The little short blonde, I need to go find my titanium cup. Be right back.

Heck, I may just give up and hire someone to mow the lawn, and then I can do more fishing and woodworking, LOL. I was out today mulching leaves and blowing some of them into the woods to rot down and to keep the vegetation down in the area under the huge pine trees that border the lawn. Hell, it was 74 here this afternoon.
A TWO POUND DOG? I better put a cowcatcher on the front of the tractor, so I don't miss seeing him, and end up with him in the bagger. sheesh.
I can stop him with one of those little mouse live traps that he can go in but can't get back out. I will just bait it with a milkbone. Then I will set my larger live trap with a cup of coffee and a donut in it, and I will catch Bobbbiez too!

Hello Bobbbiez,
"Have to admit, when Jesse Jackson first came on the scene years ago I was impressed with him and his desires for improvements in this country, but throughout the years I lost respect for the man completely."
I hope for the sake of the Country that you're not repeating these words 3 years from now and substituting Baraks name for Jesses'.

I agree with ya dan. When Martin Luther King was alive, and the civil rights movement was young, Jesse was a great voice for the people. Now he is just another whine ass like Al Sharpton, stirring discontent, instead of trying to build bridges.
