Oh dear, you are starting to sound like CDM. Take a pill girl! LOL
Yep, increased the debt paying for the democrat's mistakes from the former administration.
Nothing has changed. Democrats spend spend spend, and then republican administration has to make up the shortfalls left to them by the dems. That and a war that IS justified, makes for high debt.
This bullshit can be spun in any direction that we want to spin it. It is ALL crap, coming from both parties. I happen to put a republican spin on it myself.
I will be glad when this nonsense is over, and we can settle back to the business of running a country instead of running a campaign.
Will I be happy if Obama wins? hell no, but at least my friends can be my friends again, and all this animosity and manure can go away for another 4 years.
I am just afraid that young people are taken in by charisma and will be disappointed by the true person behind all the wonderful speeches.
Right now, I would vote for STABILITY rather than CHANGE, even if stability costs me more money for another 4 years.

You know its amazing how politics can really get people arguing, even when you don't mean it. Can't wait for this to be over with.

I miss the Viagra commercials. Nobody can wait until this election is over. HOWEVER, the current economic crisis began with the Republicans. ;-) And this country is anything but stable right now. So ha. And there is no justification for this war. And I'm done arguing. ;-) Have fun!

Fanny mae and freddi mac weren't those under the clinton admistration? They did not start under the Clinton Administration. Fannie Mae was created in 1938 as part of The New Deal. The collapse of the national housing market in the wake of the Great Depression discouraged private lenders from investing in home loans. Fannie Mae was established in order to provide local banks with federal money to finance home mortgages in an attempt to raise levels of home ownership and the availability of affordable housing. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, have operated since 1968 as government sponsored enterprises (GSEs). Although the debt has increased since the Democrats started controlling congress, it's only because they had no choice. They tried to get legislation going that would have helped before they gained control, but it was blocked by the Republicans.

Sorry I'm confused, but I did see an interview with Bill Clinton and he stated that he would take part of the blame not all of it of the problems with Freddie and Fannie.

And there is no justification for this war. You're right. When president clinton declared a war on terror in 1998 to delay his own impeachment proceedings the day after he launched cruise missile sneak attacks (Chad, Lybia, and Iraq), I said the same thing. 'Bout time someone got on board. :-)

I would kindly suggest that the passive/aggressive na-na-I'm-not-listening approach is the last thing a discussion board needs. Because of, you know, that "discussion" part. If you want to do hit and run info drops there are plenty of places to do so. At the least, could you add a big "Please Do Not Reply, Because I Won't" header to any other threads along these lines? It would save all of us a lot of time, don't you think?

Gear, I have no idea what you're talking about. I think you might be confusing me with someone else, most likely from a different forum. Unless you think that what I posted yesterday and the post I made on October 27th which was 'Ok, that's all I'm saying. Carry on. ;-)' were both a 'passive/aggressive na-na-I'm-not-listening approach' and if that's the case you're incorrect in your assumption.

Carter was before my time. I just remember when President Clinton (with a straight face, amazingly) announced our war on terror and that the US will no longer tolerate terrorist attacks after he authorized sneak missile attacks on Iraq, Chad, and a chemical factory in Sudan. This was right around the time of his impeachment.
Interestingly, the US Supreme Court ordered the Arkansas state bar to disbar Clinton for willfully lying during a deposition while acting as commander-in-chief. The Court purposely waited until after his tenure to avoid having to deal with headaches about executive immunity.

Interestingly, the US Supreme Court ordered the Arkansas state bar to disbar Clinton for willfully lying during a deposition while acting as commander-in-chief. And I think that DID happen, didn't it? He lied during the lead-up to the impeachment proceedings, if I remember correctly, saying he hadn't had sex with Monica Lewinsky. From Wiki: "In December 2006, Lewinsky graduated with a master's degree in Social Psychology from the London School of Economics[12] where she had been studying since September 2005. Her thesis was titled “In Search of the Impartial Juror: An exploration of the third person effect and pre-trial publicity.” "After Clinton's autobiography "My Life" appeared in 2004, Lewinsky said in an interview with the British tabloid Daily Mail: He could have made it right with the book, but he hasn't. He is a revisionist of history. He has lied. (...) I really didn't expect him to go into detail about our relationship (...) But if he had and he'd done it honestly, I wouldn't have minded.... I did, though, at least expect him to correct the false statements he made when he was trying to protect the Presidency. Instead, he talked about it as though I had laid it all out there for the taking. I was the buffet and he just couldn't resist the dessert. (...) This was a mutual relationship, mutual on all levels, right from the way it started and all the way through. ... I don't accept that he had to completely desecrate my character." I always felt sorry for "that woman." No matter her moral leanings, she was obviously swept off her feet by a sitting President .. or standing, if that worked for him. To build a life now must be near impossible. I doubt the revenue from her book sales are footing her bills.
