The title says it all. I'm not looking to hand out advice. If anything, I could use some. I started this topic on another topic when I went off topic about staying on topic, but now I am certainly on topic because I created the topc. (Read that twice.)
So, I imagine we could post here things like:
- what to do when you feel like going off topic, but know you shouldn't.
- how to tell someone they're going off topic and shouldn't.
- what might be some alternatives to going off topic, eg. starting a new topic or putting heavy gloves on so you can't type, or saying a act of contrition (in advance, like when we were teenagers) or calling your forum sponsor to discuss it.
If you do go off topic and you want to rectify it, would you: a. simply tell other posters you're sorry b. simply delete your post and hope no one notices c. Tell Clipper you want a Rectification Board so you can regularly post your sins to it. d. put an extra dollar in the collection basket next Sunday.

Absolutely! How about: alone, on the web, drops of sensitivity embrace an eyelash I stole that from Haiku for People: www.toyomasu.com/haiku/#urbanThis Haiku stuff is new to me. How many times am I supposed to repeat it before something happens?

Gosh Dave don't come to clipper to form a rectification board. I am the worst for going off topic. I would be either on the board or involved with a violation, and standing, waiting to be adjudicated by the board. (how am I doing with the comma's so far?) Hell, I would never have enough time to go on the rest of the board and get off topic anymore! What fun would that be? Nah! No recitification board. How about if I put my mailing address up, and you send that buck to me whenever you go off topic? That way I will have a buck or two to send to Ralph and Kim when I go off topic! (oops, that is probably against the rules, promoting a profit making business on the forum) Sorry!

Um, that's a good question, I have no idea how many times you have to repeat it before something happens.

not really, it relates to the haiku idea which relates to what punishment someone should face when going off topic yeah, it's a stretch, but in swimmy world, it makes perfect sense

Damn! We're finally getting somewhere. A few more posts and we will have invented a topic out of thin air. Then, we can go off it and all send a buck to Clipper. Which he will set aside for the picnic.

Hell no Frank, you're quick and too willing. SH-T! Here I thought I was safe with Clipper counting sheep, (on second thought, more like naked women ). I forgot you were still lurking out there. So much for a relaxing evening.
