I was going to address Wendy's 'Surge Pricing' but since Atticus changed the thread to coffee, I'll hold it for another day. Wendy's is going to spend $30 million so consumers can follow the bouncing price ball. Where do people come up with this stuff? The same type who put "stop & start" on newer cars so we can save a 10th of a gallon of gas on a full tank, that's who. In the end the idea will fall flat on it's face & they'll raise the cost of everything so consumers will end up paying for another corporate FAIL, like putting up new signs. Fine with me because we don't eat there.

I eat at Wendy's once in a while, or at least I did. I'm afraid that when they start playing yo-yo with the prices I won't be going back. Wendy's in New Hartford use to have a nice salad bar but they pulled that out. Now it's just another grunch burger joint and I don't believe the Dynamic Pricing is going to gain them any new customers.

you can buy the less caffeine classic blend and it tastes great. What brand is the less caffeine blend? Folgers I saw it only in the large canisters at Walmart bt also saw it at Price Chopper and Hannaford

Curiosity is killing me, what did you have to say about surge pricing?

He said that the Dynamic Pricing thing is just a rumor or misunderstanding and that although Wendy's is installing a new electronic menu board system that allows manipulating the data and prices on the boards, they will NOT be using dynamic pricing to raise prices during peak sales periods. One has to wonder if that is true or if they saw the error in their ways and are back pedaling and attempting to cover their own butts. I too was a big fan of their salad bar and also liked their chili. We stopped going there to eat when they did away with the salad bar and when I heard that they use the left over burger patties from the day before to make the chili. Yuk! The only time we patronize Wendy's in recent years is when we crave a frosty and I pick them up at their drive-thru. Their frosty seems to be the closest thing to Kewpie's malts that we have found.

Gee, that was really nice of them to use left over burger meat from the day before to make chili. God only know what else they put into it. Ever have Taco Bell? Now there's a real dining experience that one can rave about- If you haven't eaten in a week or have mental problems.

We just had Taco Bell's Party Box for a quick supper the other night when we had been out shopping all afternoon and Kathy didn't feel like cooking or eating out. We hit the drive-thru. The party box has 12 of their chintzy little tacos with meat, a little bit of cheese and some shredded lettuce. They are so small that Kathy ate 4 of them, I ate 5, and we threw 3 in the trash. They gave me enough gas to heat a small nation for a month, lol. I NEVER go to Taco Bell. I just don't know why I let her talk me into it.

I doubt that each Wendy's makes their own chili. It's probably made in bulk by their supplier and shipped to them in big containers like all their other products. It's my guess that someone was pulling your leg about leftover hamburgers being used to make it.
I'm glad you cleared up the idea about them going to dynamic pricing. Maybe then I'll continue to go there from time to time. I really do like their burgers.
