A day doesn't seem to go by without another challenge to my sanity. I spent the day yesterday helping my sister and running errands for her. Yesterday afternoon I stopped at a drug store and when I got out of the car the fan kept running. The car was not overheating. The fan shut itself off in a minute or so. I went on with my errands, and soon the check engine light popped on. Went to the Chevy dealer and it was throwing 7 different codes. Holy mackerel! I had to rent a car. They ran the diagnostics and found that it was a coolant control valve and it had started the torrent of codes that popped. Turns out it is covered under the power train warranty and I will be reimbursed for the car rental. The part will be in today, hopefully by noon and if so, the car will be ready by 5pm. I just can't seem to catch a break lately. Could be worse and could have been something not covered on the warranty.

Hahaha! If I traded it would be for a Honda or a Buick Enclave. We are done trading for a while. Two trades in a little over a year. Thank goodness we dickered hard and Kathy had them on the ropes before we signed. No interest, no doc fees and they had a promotion going so they paid the sales tax.. Just wrote a check and drove away. We love the Blazer. We have been driving the wheels off of it and it still only has 31K on the odometer.
When I was shopping for someone to give me the high dollar on the truck I shopped at the local Toyota dealer. I was not impressed with their sales staff OR their service department. I have a friend that drives a year old Tundra and he has had nothing but trouble with it. He gets jerked around every time he has to take it in. Toyota makes a good vehicle but our crappy local dealer owns both dealerships, Johnson City as well as Bristol.

Or Ford either. A buddy of mine just bought a 2020 F-150 with 30,000 miles on & the 4x4 just crapped out along with a wheel bearing. Total crap. I'm glad you like your Blazer.

Hahaha! If I were to trace it would be for a Honda but we have done enough trading for a few years. Trading twice in a little over a year would be a kick in the pants if we hadn't dickered them down and paid cash. It was just nice to get away with no doc fees or loan crap to deal with. Got them to the rock bottom and reasonable price and wrote a check before they changed their mind. My brother and his wife both drive Honda SUV's and previously had an accord and a civic, both of which ran for over 10 yrs trouble free. My brother finally traced his civic when he retired and it had well over 200,000 miles and never needed anything but routine maintenance and tires etc. We really like the Blazer. It will be ready tomorrow noon time.

We still don't have a date for the repair parts for our Subaru.

Who has the Subaru dealership now? My ex had a Subaru Legacy years ago. We bought it at Carbone on Commercial Drive and the service was wonderful, with Subaru factory trained mechanics. All was well until they moved the Subaru dealership to Don's Ford. From there it went downhill. They moved the Subaru franchise to Don's Ford and left the trained Subaru mechanics on Commercial Drive working on Pontiacs.
Subaru's all wheel drive system was beyond compare. We lived up North and our driveway had a fairly steep slope up to the road. That car would climb up out of there through 6 or 8 inches of snow without spinning a tire and I would follow in her tracks with my pickup.

Overall we have been very pleased with the car but the lack of any idea on when repair parts will arrive is frustrating beyond belief. We have a different rental now after the first leaked a couple quarts of oil on our garage floor. We made arrangements to get a car from our youngest next week. We make a couple trips a week to pick up grandkids so it seems like a fair deal.
The Subaru dealership is now owned by the same out-of-area company that bought many of the Carbone dealerships.

I think I would be pursuing the possibility of having the garage floor cleaned up at the expense of the rental agency unless your garage floor happens to be painted or sealed so you can just wipe up the oil without leaving a stain.
When we had our heat pump replaced one of the company's pick ups leaked all over our blacktop drive. They came back the next day and cleaned it up with Speedy Dry and Dawn dish soap. Shortly thereafter we had the driveway sealed and the remnants of the stain became redundant.
Now I have enough sawdust and shavings from the planer to soak up the Exxon Valdez spill. I save all the shavings and sawdust for a friend that has chickens. She uses it on the floor in the henhouse.
I recently planed about 30 ten foot barn boards for a friend. That created almost a full 20 gallon trash can of shavings. I have planed and jointed 2 or 3 hundred board feet of lumber for him on more than one occasion. He paid me by buying me a metal detector wand to check boards for hidden nails before I plane or joint them.

He kept up the sales pitch & actually said to me, "c'mon, help me out here"! I laughed right in his face & told him, "help you out? I'm buying a friggin car here"! I did not get get the warranty. When I bought the F-150 in Syracuse a few years ago the idiot salesman put commercial plates on it without telling me. So I had to spring for a new registration cuz you can't put comercial plates to an SUV. Cost me $160 big ones. That F-150 was the biggest piece of crap I ever owned. Lol

My last 150 was a 97. Served me well until 2005. We had a Dodge Caravan also at that time so I didn't drive the truck every day. You needed 40 acres to turn it around if it was in 4WD. It was an extended cab with and 8 foot bed. Had it towed once when a brake line blew. The guy showed up with a small tilt bed, winched my truck up snug to the headache bar on the front of his bed and my back wheels were still on the ground, ooops, haha. Went to the Dodges with the 5.7 Hemi in 05, traded on a 2010 and later on a 2016. I was always happy with the Ram 1500's. Never had a lick of trouble with any of them. Just before I got rid of the 16 model I got a recall notice that said that the tailgate could fall open while driving. Never happened to me in the 70K that I drove it. That was the only time it was back to a dealer for anything except the 5 free oil changes and tire rotation.
