It is sad to see how few bowling alleys there are now in the area. For a league bowler the choices have dwindled to two. Vista in Yorkville or Kingpin in Rome. I don't think that the Pinz in NH has leagues. They only have 10 lanes and are set up more for open bowling. I bowled on a league at Vista on the OD team and Kathy and I bowled on leagues at Kingpin for a few years. Interest in bowling seems to have dwindled over the years.
I have bowled at Madison, Royal, Sunset, Madison, and Riverside as well as on leagues in Rome at Griffiss, Mohawk Lanes, Rome Bowling Center, and Kingpin over the years, and at Adirondack Lanes in Barneveld.
Kathy and I bowled on a traveling team for Adirondack Lanes that traveled to other alleys once a month for a tournament. We bowled in two bowling alleys in Oneida, as well as Franfort, Ilion, Herkimer, Little Falls, and Boonville. I think the only ones on that list that are still in business are in Little Falls and Boonville.
We are going bowling this afternoon at Warpath Lanes in Kingsport to practice and get used to the lanes before our league there starts a week from next Tuesday. Does anyone else on the forum still bowl?
