If you can't walk up the hill, you could possibly make and appointment with Dr. Max unless you need a referral from the one that sent you to Dr. Elkilany. He operated on my former father in-law and the family loved him. My dad went to high school with Dr. Theodore Max. We ran into him years ago at Kirby's Restaurant while my mom and dad were up in Utica on vacation. They chatted for 15 or 20 minutes. I think he and my dad played sports together. I will see what he is like. I canceled the appointment only because I had no way of getting there. I called for a Medical transportation and was told they need 72 hours notice and appointment has to made by Doctors office which I did not know since this was first time using that service. So appointment is this Friday at 11:30 AM which means I can take my Bus as usual without the hassle. I got better directions as to finding CNY Cardiology so I planned on doing a dry run today, Monday, but we got several inches of snow and I am not going to walk around in all that snow. I hate Doctor appointments in the winter and I told them not to make them for me but no they do what they want.

Good luck PB. If I recall correctly that Medical building is not terribly hard to get to and the incline is not terribly steep between there and Genessee St. I just checked as to whether transportation might be available for you paid for by medicaid. I don't know if you receive medicaid benefts and it is none of my business, but if you do, check this website and see if you, as a disabled person without a car, would qualify for transportation. Way back when I drove an ambulance in Utica, there was a provision where medicaid would pay under some circumstances. www.bing.com/search?q=does+ny+state+medicaid+cover+transportation+to+doctor%27s+appointments+&form=ANNTH1&refig=5af8b823ca1945dd9230e1f9dced9850One of the provisions listed requires prior approval and appointment for the transport has to be 3 days prior to the appointment. We have a company called "Net Trans" that has a fleet of vans that do nothing but carry people to and from medical appointments. I had a now deceased friend who had to go for dialysis every 4th day and he used that service to get back and forth to the hospital for his treatments. Probably worth checking into.

Thankx I know about that and yes I just got full Medicaid along with Medicare. I received a phone call from County telling me thanks to COVID my case was never reviewed. I never got benefits I was due for past two years.
I never used the free transport service when I had the Medicaid with spend down reason is that I was told I would have to pay the spend down first. That means paying $ 280.00 to get me below the poverty level so I could get the free ride. Clipper and others would YOU pay $280. to take a cab to the Doctors appointment. Of course the only thing to justify paying the spend down is that the 20 % Medicare does not pay the Doctor is paid by Medicaid and I have to wait a year to get the rest of my money back. Totally F'd up system if you ask me. WE NEED FREE HEALTHCARE FOR ALL FROM CRADLE TO DEATH THEN FREE BURIAL FOR ALL UPON DEATH. They can even do it by composting which I am really liking......

LOL. I wouldn't spend that much unless the doctor was located near the ocean and his waiting room was on a beach with free beverages while you wait. Some spend-downs are a bit unfair. In many cases a person such as yourself needing the service can't afford a spend-down so they are not able to avail themselves of the service.

I even sent an email to our beloved legislatures for NYS and Congress officials and no one even wrote back........I stopped voting for all of them. I should email Trump! Who knows what he can do;;;;
