I heard that on the news here this morning. They let the offender out on bail and the only thing he was charged with was "ATTEMPTED" assault. I guess for him to be charged with a serious crime he would have had to succeed in cutting Zeldin's throat. Is your window a double hung sash that raises up and down vertically? Is it going in a first floor window? If so, and if it is a small unit, you should be able to open the window just far enough to slide the case of the AC into the opening but not wide enough for the face of the unit to fall out. The openings on the side or any other opening can even be covered with cardboard and duct tape until someone will properly put the plexiglass panel in. I think he has windows that slide side to side. I hope not because I don't think you can use a window unit with those. I don't know how the a.c. would be held in place so it doesn'f fall out. But I could be wrong. Sunday the heat index is supposed to be in the mid 90's or higher. I picked a few cucumbers today, the groundhog did a job on my bush beans & tomatoes will be late. Don't know why. Hot cherry peppers are looking great but still green. I'll wait till they start turning red then pickle them.

It seems that I have been in the twilight zone for the last couple days. Is there anything I can do to help? I have a son with muscles and a couple grandsons for light work.

I exterminated the woodchuck that was eating my garden when I couldn't trap him. Now I have a little orphan bunny about 8 or 10 inches long who's mother got hit by a car in front of the house. It doesn't eat my garden. It grazes on the clover around it and hides in the garden under the squash vines. It hasn't done any damage in the garden but when I water in the morning it has been known to come flying out of the garden and scare the crap out of me.
