From MonkeyFilter.com " St. Patrick's Day falls during Holy Week this year. Some St. Paddy's Days have been moved to March 14th, others not. Check your local listings."
Re your priorities: "Actually, you're born Irish first, and then you're baptized Catholic."
And: " I once stayed at a hotel where there was a Hibernians convention going on. I've never seen so many green cars in one parking lot in my life. When I ran out of hot water, I liked to think it was because of all the Hibernians boiling potatoes in their rooms."
Which reminds me of that old joke about an Irish 7 course meal ... a six pack and a potato.

I hate corn beef and I hate cabbage. Oddly...I'm of Irish heritage! I do, however, like beer, and I'm enjoying one right now, so I guess I'm still a good Irishwoman.

Isn't the day after St. Patricks Day a legal holiday for those who partied hardy! I like lamb and gabage . I think that is really the original meal of Ireland.

I married into a full blooded Irish family. I love corn beef and cabbage but oddly enough I have never seen them eat it. I will have to ask the wife why that is. This also makes the family reunions interesting. I'm Italian and neither side will admit their wrong or want to loose. ;D

Do we have a little Scottish in ya or are you just referring to the bird like Ostrich found in the Scottish mountains. Although I hear it is very tasty and is enjoyed by Americans.

I married into a full blooded Irish family. I love corn beef and cabbage but oddly enough I have never seen them eat it. I will have to ask the wife why that is. Maybe because it was considered by the Irish the worst of foods, suitable only for the poor. That's what my Dad told me. Irish Dave

That would explain it. I know when I go there for dinner I always get meat, mashed potatoes (the best ever) and peas with rolls or Italian bread.

;D I'll stay politcally neutral. I will have a Reuben for St Pattys day. German sauerkraut, Polish rye bread, and Irish corned beef.

He is a little better than yesterday, but he will be in the hospital for a while yet. The fluid in his lungs was from his congestive heart, and they have him scheduled for some more tests and a consult with a pulmonary doctor. I am on my way out to go see him now. I appreciate the prayers and concern! I hope everyone will keep him in prayer.
