I have been reading about flooding in Barneveld, and in Kirkland. Is the Sauquoit creek flooding in Whitesboro, flooding out all those poor people that always end up under water? It seems to be a never ending and unfixable problem. They certainly can't shut down the main line railroad tracks to replace the bridge where the creek goes under the tracks.

Nothing major that I know of. There was an ice jam in Whitesboro but D.O.T. crews broke it up using excavators.
We never had this problem until they paved over half of New Hartford & let developers weasel out of replacing wetlands which are now covered in concrete.
And hopefully they learned their lesson when they built those benches along Saquoit Creek then lined them with newly planted trees which washed downstream & clogged up under that RR bridge & contributed to the flooding a couple years ago.
Duh.

Duh is right. Nothing like planting trees in newly excavated soil that is subject to raging flood water. some real rocket scientists must have engineered THAT project.
