www.wktv.com/news/local/26403464.htmlThere has to be more to the story than this. They offer this service to anybody other than Time Warner customers, why? Either it is HD or it is not. Why is this process taken so long and why the need to report this? It was never reported that they were changing over to HD in the first place. Just once I would love to see, hear or read the real deal in the world of news.

They can broadcast in HD. It's an entirely separate issue for Time Warner to ad another HD channel to their line-up.
Until then, it's like listening to music on an AM radio. It doesn't matter how good the source is at the studio, you are still going to get a lot of static & low fidelity music from the speaker.

There's more regarding the cable companies and HD: "As cable TV companies pack ever more HD channels into limited bandwidth, some owners of pricey plasma, projector and LCD TVs are complaining that they're not getting the high-def quality they paid for. They blame the increased signal compression being used to squeeze three digital HD signals into the bandwidth of one analog station." Dave,
Good article and it certainly makes sense. This was a common fear with all us HD enthusiasts. With the price of the HD TV's and the price of cable service I think they will be forced into the upgrades. After all they are dealing with a higher end and higher maintenance customer in which their expectation of TV viewing are much greater than everyone else.
Heres one for you. I canceled my pay station because of the volume level being to low. I had their guy out to the house and stated it is in the service, waiting on the upgrade to the satellites. I am getting the same thing with the HUD channels. Very dissappointing......but enough to cancel.

WKTV.com had a notice up saying the HD broadcast of the Olympics was not being shown because they had faulty equipment. Replacement equipment was expected to arrive next week.
I take this to mean their trouble was not the fault of Time Warner.

Pretty soon they'll all need a shuttle to carry the blame as it is passed back and forth.
