www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/update-police-investigate-bizarre-incident-outside-walmart-in-bristol-virginia/ar-AAKS7cJIt is still an active scene. It has been updated to state that it is a hostage situation and people are to avoid the Walmart area. The truck driver must either be holding a hostage or has been taken hostage. I guess my habit of parking in the garden center or tire and lube section to avoid having to wander through the entire store to get what I want would be a dangerous choice today. That particular Walmart has been the scene of several parking lot robberies, and attempted car jackings. I seldom shop at Walmart as most of you know, but with all the parking lot crime at this store plus all the pan handlers and scammers playing homeless only to get in their late model car and go home after a day of playing poor and downtrodden, shopping there has become even more undesirable.

UPDATE: wcyb.com/news/local/police-investigate-incident-outside-bristol-virginia-walmartThe incident definitely WAS bizzare. Very strange indeed. According to Capt. Maynard Ratliff with the Bristol, Virginia Police, they received a call from the trucking company concerning the father and son inside the vehicle. The caller told police the two men's family were being held hostage in Florida. Police took precaution searching the vehicle. They are actively speaking with the two men. It appears the there is not hostage situation in Florida. Police are still investigating. The FBI has been notified.

The truck drivers were instructed to go to the nearest Walmart and stay put until this morning when they would be called with further instructions. I imagine Walmart was the destination the scammers picked because Walmart stores have money centers to send money. Those facilities are closed at night. The police hostage negotiator actually spoke to the scammers and eventually they admitted it was a scam to extort money from the truck driver. The call was traced back to a number in Mexico.
It is a dangerous world out there with all the scams. Just yesterday while I was out and about I got 5 calls supposedly from Amazon in less than two hours, and all five were from different numbers but the same recording telling me that there had been a $750 charge to my Amazon account. I don't even have an Amazon Account. Every time I hung up on them and within 15 minutes or so they called back from a different number.

I get that same call all the time from some lowlife claiming to be from Amazon. I just hang up. Yesterday I got an email from Credit Karma informing me that more then one of my passwords may be compromised & one of them is the one I use for Amazon so I changed it. I guess the recomendation now is to use a different password for all accpunts which means for me writing them all down because I'll never remember all of them. It's a p.i.t.a. I had to lock my credit reports back in March because some scammer tried to take out a loan in my name from the S.B.A. If it wasen't for Experian notifying me what was going on I would never had known until it was too late.

BHU go online and get on of those password managers. I have one. It holds all your passwords for different web accounts and stores etc. I have different passwords for everything and this makes it easy. They are free. I use this one; mypadlock.com/

No you have the app in your computer only and it is stored on your desktop. Not attached to web or internet at all.
