I was reading about all the power outages and down trees from yesterday's storms. I hope everyone stayed safe and didn't lose power for any extended period of time. 60 mph gusts are pretty scary stuff. Hopefully the nasty weather is over and done so you all can enjoy a great upstate NY Memorial Day weekend. Anyone going away for the weekend? We plan to stick close to home. I will probably go to the cemetery on Sunday and put a fresh arrangement on my mom and dad's grave and maybe I will stop by the National Cemetery in Johnson City and change out the artificial arrangement on my buddy John's grave. His family all lives a fairly long distance from the cemetery so I normally keep it fresh and send them photos when I put new flowers out.
We have a possibility of some strong storms moving through here tomorrow and Saturday. At least now that we have the motorhome with a generator we can go out and watch tv and stay cool with the AC in the motorhome. We are hoping to be able to get reservations for during the week this coming week so we can take it on it's maiden voyage. We could use a couple of days of relaxation, and the fishing is great at this particular KOA campground. It's on a very pretty stretch of the Nolichucky River. We will probably invite my sister and brother in-law to go with us. They have a camper also, and we would enjoy spending time with them around a campfire.

When we went to check it out we were able to watch rafters and kayakers shooting the rapids that are right off the campground shore, and it is only about 50 yards or so to calmer water and great fishing downstream from the campsite. Looks like a great place and it's only about 45 minutes from home.
If we camp during the week they told us that there is usually plenty of riverfront sites available. I just hope everyone goes home after their Memorial Day weekend trip so the place will be uncrowded and relatively serene.
