Biden has reached out to the GOP more then once & they actually have met together more then once. I don't see Biden attacking on Twitter everyone & anyone that disagreed with him. Trump took no marching orders from anyone? That's a laugh. The guy has bent over backwards for multiple third world dictators & sold us out to the likes of Putin, Erdogan & MBS & refused to call them out for the mass murder that they engage in. Does Putin still have that bounty on our soldiers that Trump ignored? How about the Kurds that he sold out for Erdogan, after they fought beside our own service men & women to fight ISIS?
I'm not lumping in together the average person on the street that votes Republican. My point was to call out the hypocricy of Cruz. From now on his state should pay their own freight considering that NYS taxpayer money has been used to apply aid for red states like Kentucky & WE pay more in federal taxes to fund FEMA more then any other state besides California. The real welfare recipients are in Kentucky, Alabama & other red states who always have their hand out when disaster strikes. Did I mention Florida hurricanes where the state is bailed out by FEMA every year?
Demogougery? Trump just incited a riot that got 5 people killed & his Senate bootlickers let him get away with it, because they like what he did & his Mussolini complex.

Back to windmills: 25% of Texas homes supplied by windmill power/windmill pumps froze/thousands without power/many deaths/conclusion- windmills not reliable, but, nice try. How many thousands of people lost power all accross NYS a few years ago after the massive ice storm that struck? Should we bury all power lines as a result of that storm or is that different? Windmills are proven technology. But big oil hates them because they cut into their profits. But big oil continues to recieve billions in corporate welfare disguised as tax breaks despite billions in profits every single year. My heart bleeds for them. The electic grid in Texas was privatized to avoid federal regulations, but now the taxpayers will be expected to bail out the wealthy individuals who are running it. Nice.

Stop the windmills and increase output from Nuclear Reactors. I wish this area had a reactor. Good place for it would e on the property either at St Luke's of St. E's. LOL can you imagine the yelling and screaming. But the jobs are great jobs and research can be attached to a facility.

We played Phase 10 (card game) sitting outdoors today. We moved indoors after the game because the wind chill had dropped to 65 F.

CB is that game Republican or Democrat? Does either cause that wind chill. I Google how to play and confusing. I was never any good at cards especially in old age--to much concentration required.

I think it is non-denominational. It is a good game to play with kids. There are four colors each numbered 1-10. There are 10 stages to the game called phases. Each phase gets more difficult. A phase requires you get get a particular pattern, eg. 4 cards of a color and 4 cards in numerical sequence.
Ten cards are dealt to each player. Each player in turn draws a card and discards. A player draws a card from the pile and discards a card. A player lays down his cards when gets his phase but continues to play until his cards are gone. He can play on the things he has put down on on those of his opponents. Example, if an opponent has put down 4 7's and you have a 7 you can play it.
Play is often suspended for meals or bed time and we just pick up where we left off. There are regional variations in scoring and an official version. We just play until someone completes phase 10.

"The electric grid in Texas was privatized to avoid federal regulations, but now the taxpayers will be expected to bail out the wealthy individuals who are running it. Nice."
I actually see little difference between Texas requesting federal aid and the aid that was provided when the ice storm hit northern NY. Texas may own their own power grid, but why is that much different than the power companies that owned all the infrastructure that was destroyed during the NY ice storm. This is no time for politics. It is a NATIONAL DISASTER, not a Texas problem. Those NY utility companies receive the aid to restore the infrastructure destroyed consisting of poles, lines, federal money to pay those out of state line crews that came in.
When all the lines are down, people are freezing and power is expected to be out for a extended period of time, federal aid should flow to every locale that has no power and needs both funding and manpower to restore power and other services. Texas is not any different than Oklahoma, or any other area devastated by the storm, nor is the situation any different than was the plight of NY during the big ice storm.
Thee is more involved than just the power grid. After the NY storm we hauled several trailer loads of generators to the Walmart in Watertown as well as bottled water for those that had no power to pump water from their wells, baby formula, diapers, and other crucial goods. The federal government provided portable generators and generator trailers where the need was critical and immediate, and national guard troops delivered goods with chains on all four wheels of Hum Vees. Drivers who made the first few trips took as much as 3 hours to go 31 miles from Pulaski to Watertown with a national guard escort. Thankfully the roads were open by the time I hauled to the North country. I made one trip where I came back down Rt 12. The devastation was terrible. There was not a power pole left standing and there were piles of wood along the road where trees had been cleared. It took months and millions if not billions to restore NY to it's former state.
The aid is to benefit the PEOPLE affected. NO power grid is ready or able to handle such devastation without outside aid.
"I'm not lumping in together the average person on the street that votes Republican. My point was to call out the hypocricy of Cruz. I APOLOGIZE for misconstruing your statements concerning Cruz and I am ashamed of the ensuing diatribe. I am becoming a bit over sensitive about people thinking republicans to be stupid for voting for Trump and for supporting ANY of his actions as President. Personally I support much of what he accomplished 100%, but I don't know ANYONE who supports ALL of an administration's agenda, and I certainly don't know anyone that supported his rants, his ego, or his self adoration. I think a majority of responsible thinking republicans abandoned any respect or support for him as the election loss thing played out. Was there election fraud? Yes, I believe there WAS election fraud. Was it widespread and did it affect the outcome of the election? That became evident and the issue should have been dropped. Trump's personality and mouth are his worst enemy.
Bottom line? I know a good many self respecting republicans that approve of much of his agenda and accomplishments, but I don't know very many that can say they liked him as a person.

No need to apologize Clipper. I know things can sometimes get heated especially in the poltical climate we live in today, but as long as we respect each others right to have a different opinion then as far as I'm concerned all is well. The people of Texas need help no doubt about it. Hopefully, it will be sooner rather then later & things will be back to normal without too much grief. Have a good day!
