I have mixed feelings about viewing the debate between Trump and Biden tonight. Will it be a real discussion and debate of the issues or will it simply be another opportunity for the two to insult each other and continue their oft unfounded accusations and focus on each other's alleged wrong doings? It will be interesting to see if either candidate puts forth a legitimate and believable agenda, or if it will be simply a gloves off continuation of their hate fest.
I am debating whether to watch the debate in real time or to catch the highlights and excerpts when it is over. Politics has become an overdone and disgusting partisan pissing contest consisting of more personal or party related vendettas than productive negotiations and positive results. It is a disturbing and divisive political climate that leaves me wondering if we will ever again see our representatives working together across party lines for the good of the people they represent.

I don't think I could stay awake watching it live.

Me either CB. Politics has become the same old negative humdrum from day to day with nothing productive to be gleaned from watching it on tv. This is another election much like the 2016 election in my opinion. A choice between two candidates which would neither have my vote if there were two more desirable and qualified choices available. Kathy wants to watch it so I will probably suffer through the first hour and then take my Ipad and go to bed and stream something until she comes to bed.

I read that Biden has requested a break every 30 minutes and Trump requested that Biden's ears be checked for electronic devices. You can't make stuff up weirder than what I read on Google News and MSN.

We'll watch it for a bit to see what it will be about. If it's the issues, fine. If they are going to be picking at each other like fifth graders I'll pass.

Well I happened to have the channel on when the debate began and it started out with a fight so decided to watch them battle each other. I was amused. It was better than the last Steinfeld program I watched.

My brother suggested that for their next event instead of a debate they should have a cage match.

My brother suggested that for their next event instead of a debate they should have a cage match. That would probably be just about as productive. The entire debate was a shit show and hate fest. I watched for about the first 15 minutes and then went in the kitchen a played online poker on my Ipad. I had a sneaking suspicion it was going to be a gloves off trading of insults with little to be learned about either candidate's suggested solutions to any of the country's problems. I could hear from the kitchen and couldn't believe the chaos. At most times I couldn't tell if Trump was debating Biden, or if it was Chris Wallace that he was debating. Chris Wallace is a left wing liberal turd and he steered the debate in whatever direction he wanted it to go, and gave the president little to no chance to speak in defense of himself.

Idk. What I saw was Trump being a bully, an insulting buffoon with anger issues constantly interrupting. Trump refused to abide by the debate rules which he agreed to wwhich was not to interrupt & having 2 minutes to respond to a question & rebuttal. Biden wasen't perfect but he showed far more restraint in responding to Trump's insults & his attempts to bait Biden. Trump was out of control & even resorted to obsenities. That's Presidential? Wallace had his work cut out for him in deaing with Trump who acted like a spoiled out of control brat. At the next debate Trump should be outfitted with a shock collar to keep him in line & act like a human being instead of a rabid dog. There's something definately wrong with that guy & if someone acted like that in public the police would have been called. His behaviour was a disgrace to put it mildly. Anyone who has to rant & rave to make a point is shows they don't have much of an argument to begin with. And he lied thru his teeth thru the whole thing.

Is it safe to assume that you won't be voting for Trump? I am beginning to get the idea that you don't like the guy. To each their own. I feel almost as much that same level of animous toward Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. I guess that is why we have a two party system, partially defined by whether a person leans toward the conservative side or the more liberal of the two parties. I am just thankful that we respect each other's right to our opinions and don't argue or judge one another.

If I may add, in 2016 I considered voting for Trump but at the last minute I changed my mind. So I voted for neither candidate. But after watching Trump for the past 3.5 years there's no way in hell I'd vote for him. His policy towards healthcare or lack of one should strike fear in the hearts of anyone who isn't a multi millionaire, especially those with pre existing, which includes me & practically every person I know. But, we'll know one way or another in a few weeks.
