This image from a Google Transparency Report shows a digital ad from President Donald Trump's reelection campaign saying "Support Our Troops" with a photo of jets and weapons made in Russia.
A campaign ad for President Donald Trump’s reelection urges Americans to “support our troops” with a photo of Russian-made planes and weapons.
Military experts tell Politico that a digital ad made by the Trump Make America Great Again Committee used a stock photo showing a silhouette of soldiers standing beneath fighter jets. Underneath, the ad says “Support Our Troops” and encourages people to click and “show your support.”
Pierre Sprey, who helped design both the F-16 and A-10 planes for the U.S. Air Force, told the publication that the jet in the ad was “definitely a MiG-29.” The MiG-29 is a twin-engine air-to-air fighter developed by the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
Ruslan Pukhov of the Centre for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies in Moscow, confirmed to Politico that the planes are Russian MiG-29s and said the soldier on the far right carries a Russian-designed AK-74 assault rifle.
The Hill reports the ad ran from Sept. 8 to Sept. 12 for the Trump Make America Great Again Committee, which is run by the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC).
The Trump campaign and the RNC have not commented on the ad.
According to Politico, the image used in the ad came from Shutterstock under the description “Military silhouettes of soldiers and airforce against the backdrop of sunset sky.” The creator of the image, Arthur Zakirov, confirmed to the publication that the photo shows Russian models and MiG 29s against a composite of three different countries: Russian sky, Greek mountains and French ground.
Russia interfered in the 2016 election to benefit Trump, the U.S. Senate intelligence committee concluded last month, echoing the findings of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. The bipartisan panel also said the Trump campaign’s interactions with Russian intelligence services posed a “grave” counterintelligence threat.
U.S. intelligence officials said in August that the Kremlin is similarly supporting Trump in the 2020 election and using a variety of measures to denigrate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

I am confused. It says that equipment was made by Russia so wouldn't you just expect the jets and guns to appear in the photo!
