Interesting times here in the northwest. The smoke/fog in areas from the coast, east to the Cascade range is very thick. No sun, and, the lowest air quality on record. No folks outside walking around. The closest fire to our area is approx. 15 miles away, but, mostly contained. Local news states visibility from zero to 1/8th mi. for our area.. This is the 4th day for these conditions. Rain forecast for Tuesday should help clear the air and slow down the spread of fires. State identified 37 fires of various sizes currently burning across nw Oregon and sw Washington, caused last week, by high temp's and high winds.

Are you guys doing okay? I had forgotten that you live in the area that is burning in the Pacific Northwest. Are you able to breathed fairly fresh air in the house or is the air quality in the house just as bad as it is outdoors? I have been praying for EVERYONE affected by the fires and will keep you and your wife in prayer. Stay safe and well. Keep us posted when you can. We don't get much detailed news from out there other than quick videos of the devastation and of the firefighters who are working around the clock, exhausted and over worked to do what they can in the face of what seems a futile effort to contain the fires in some places.

Clipper- We have a very well insulated house/windows/doors, so, air quality inside is fine. The last few days we have had lower temps and very little wind, which helps greatly. I haven't commented on life and property casualties because that data is available on the news outlets. Just trying to give a personal perspective re: our local area. It also helps that we live in a city of considerable size, with no heavily wooded areas in our immediate vacinity. Thanks for your prayers. God is keeping us out of harms way.

Someone needs to cut down all the trees so there is no more fuel for the fire. Stay safe and stay in.
