Found out about this place last year and this year made sure I went to check it out. ( mostly for the tomatoes straight from the garden) who doesnt love tomatoe and mayo sandwiches. Im in heaven. Its in Irondequoit up the road from the zoo. If you dont know about it youd drive right by. No signs at the road.

Enjoy! O bought some fresh tomatoes at one of the Farmers Markets on Wednesday. Nice Amish family bring in tons of home grown veggies. I bought 4 peppers for $2.00 and they were huge. Not like these 78 cents apiece green peppers sold at Walmarts.

Now that Fall is about here I'm waiting for apple season to begin. I want to try Cosmic Crisp, a new variety that was introduced out of Washington State last year. I think I've had my fill of tomatoes, I've been giving them away & tomorrow I have to pick some more.

You can't beat summertime for the fresh produce. That hidden treasure looks like a real find. I was ecstatic when the Big Red Apple Shed opened here. The only other produce market here closed last year when the guy that ran it died. I eat a salad at least once a day and and usually twice since changing to a healthier diet I eat a lot of fresh fruit. the Big Red Apple Shed reminds me a little of Candella's in Marcy.
I am there every other day for two cantaloupes and whatever other goodies he has on any particular day. I have pretty much stopped buying any produce at the supermarket any more other than the English seedless cukes that he doesn't carry.

I love those English seedless cucks. I buy that variety all the time. There is also a small cucumber that Walmart sells in a bag. About several in a bag and I like them as something to just snack on during the day. I carry one with me on the Bus and pull one out of my pants for a delicious crisp snack.

We have already made a couple stops at the apple market. Some early apples are in, got a super cantaloupe and tomatoes.
