Do you think they will bulldoze this eventually. With all those chemicals in the ground not sure I would want to live on the property if they did.

I imagine that they would take soil core samples from around the parcel, and remediate any soil contamination before building on the site again. One could only hope that any contamination doesn't affect the entire site. When I drove for Fred Burrows one summer we hauled "dirty dirt" from contaminated sites to the Seneca Falls Landfill where they use it to cover the garbage in the lined landfill.

The federal govt. won't help because Brindisi is a Democrat, the people be damned, Utica, Oneida & Herkimer counties are broke as is NYS. Plus, Trump has cut funding to the EPA. The place will continue to be a plague on this area for years. Even if it's declared a Superfund site the cleanup is years away. Who in their right mind is going to develop it before it's cleaned up? Nobody.
The best thing that could happen is if the walls collapse saving Utica & Herkimer county the cost of a wrecking ball to knock them down.

Brindisi is not just a Democrat but one who campaigned last time as being anti-Pelosi. He has very few allies. His cable TV bill got 1 co-signer and never made it out of committee.

That was the tone of his ads last election and when the vote for Speaker came, he did note vote for her. I don't recall the name right now but he voted for someone who was not eligible.

Beautiful drone footage of the devastation at Charlestown.
* I can't watch this and not think is was deliberately set. Especially after seeing the footage of it burning.

People complain about Brindisi voting with Pelosi as a Democrat. Well, he IS a Democrat. Is he supposed to vote for Republican proposals? If he wanted to support GOP causes he would have ran as a Republican. And when's the last time Republican members of the HOR voted for a Democrat proposed bill? The Democrats have sent 300 bills to the Senate which sit on the desk of McConnell who refuses to act on a single one of them including the stimulus bill which sits idle as millions of people stand on the unemployment line waiting to be thrown out of their homes because they're destitute.

The video is fantastic coverage. It reminded me of video I saw of small towns in Syria being blasted to hell by al-Qaeda. Music is a nice added touch. I am sure that fire was set. Be interesting to find out by whom.

The fact that the stimulus bill is still sitting on Mitch's desk in that it contains so much unrelated crap and pork. I wonder how many republican sponsored bills are setting on Nancy's desk. Our entire political system is a mess and it can't all be blamed on Trump and the republicans.

I said that the first time I saw photos and video of the fire. The extension and uniformity of the intensity tells me that it was set in more than location. Probably and accelerant was poured in a trail the entire length of the building. Once it got a start the old oil soaked wooden floors and timbers dating all the way back to the Savage Arms were quickly ignited and it turned into a hot burning conflagration in no time.

With all that was involved, they had to have laced all of the six main buildings/sections. Never traveled out far into the little shed areas to the northwest, even though they were joined and would have drafted in eventually.
