I didn't get to see all of the awards because I was bouncing around the channels tonight but did get to see a group of soldiers in Baghdad get to present the Oscar by via satellite for the best short documentary film. The Academy members did it to make our forces overseas a part of the show. I thought that was pretty cool. God Bless them all.

Pretty good show. I find it hard to believe that Cate Blanchett didn't win and I was rooting for Viggo. It's nice to see different people win. I didn't find anyone's dress too terrible as I have in other years. Not real fond of what Jennifer Hudson was wearing. I watched "E" on tv for the red carpet stuff before and that Gary Busey scared the hell out of Jennifer Garner. I'm sure he was drunk by the way he acted. Very strange.
It always amazes me to watch the tribute part and not realize actors and actresses that have passed away. Still can't believe Heath is gone.
Goin to bed, kid has school tomorrow so I've got to get up early to get him up early!

Yes, from what I saw it was much better then last years. I to was pulling for Cate. She is such a good actress. I like her alot. Now, Gary Busy is a nut case without his drinking. but you might be right about him tonight. What a waste for him to let his talent go down the drain with his drinking problem and you know I really like the guy. He is a really good actor. He's been around for a long time in films. I love his old movie, Silver Bullet. He was great in it. I hope he can get his drinking problem straightened out. I felt the tribute was very moving, especially because I was a fan of most of the older ones who passed away. Very sad to see the young ones die before their time and with so much talent. I'll look forward to watching the Batman movie with Health in it. Most of the fashions were toned down somewhat which I enjoyed watching. All looked pretty nice. There was one actress that looked simply fantastic but I can't remember who it was now. She looked the best. I'm sure I'll see it again and will let you know who she was. Well Countrygal, sleep well and blessings to you and yours.

I watched the show for about an hour and had to go to bed by 11 PM as GD also has an 9 AM Doctor's appointment and then school. If I don't get up and have her breakfast ready by 6:30AM, she is too lazy to pour herself a bowl of cereal - LOL.
Bobbbiez - you might be referring to the beige gown worn by the blonde singer towards the end of the show. If so, I also thought the gown she wore was fantastic and "different" (but absolutely beautiful).
I wanted George Cooney to win Best Male Actor. In fact, I even bought the DVD "Michael Clayton" this weekend and watched it twice so far - it was excellent.

I would have like to have seen Viggo Mortensen win the Oscar for Best Actor. I like to see someone win who hasn't won before, and he is graduate of Watertown High School, Class of 1979. He still has family in the area and periodically visits. Last year he was spotted shopping in the grocery store around the corner from my house (unfortunately not while I was shopping). Our local media never picked it up, or maybe chooses not to in order to give him peace and quiet. Watertown....a great place to escape from the paparazzi!

Good morn, Girls. Yes Denise, Watertown would be rather safe, just as Constable is. When ever someone ask me where I am the response is always, "where the hell is Constable???" They always get it confused with Constableville and I say, "where the hell is that??" Both of us are living in areas pretty remote from the rest in the state being we're so close to the Canadian border. Thelma, I really didn't have a favorite this year because just haven't had the time to see any of the movies to make a decent comment on that. I'm sure you know what my schedule is like. I to like Georgie. He's a wonderful actor and it's not hard to look at him either. Wasn't surprised who won because, No Country for Old Men, took so many awards prior to the Oscars in other award fields. Haven't seen the movie but I hear it is great, My sis lives in C.A. and they get to see the new movies long before we do and she just loved that movie. Did you see it? Let me know what you think if you saw it. You to Denise, because in May when I finally get some time to myself I'll catch up on all the movies and don't want to waste time on the bad ones. The movies aren't always that good just because they got an award. Still can't think of the actress that looked the best to me. I know she had dark hair though. She looked absolutely gorgeous. Plain but beautiful. It'll come to me eventually. Hopefully before I meet my maker. ;D I did see the Blondie singer and she did look great to but not my favorite. Sh--, I wish I could recall who the other one is. Did anyone of you gals get to see the part from Baghdad? That was really nice what the Academy did and the troops on the film really enjoyed it to. I'm sure it made them feel like they were still part of the world and were not forgotten. All in all, it was one of the best awards shows I've ever watched.

Bobbbiez - I think I am finally coming into the age of electronics! I have the "box" from Time Warner that offers the "Movies on Demand" feature. It is not only economical, but convienent to use. This Channel offers a wide variety of movies that all you do is pick the one you want to watch at a cost of between $3.99 to$4.99 and sit back in the comfort of your own home and watch the movie. You have 24 hours once you order the movie to watch it as many times as you want for no additional charge.
When I bought the DVD "Michael Clayton" at Walmart, it cost me almost $17.00. To "buy" the movie "The Brave One" from Time Warner, it only cost me $4.99 and I watched it 3 times (that is how much I enjoyed it). Big difference price wise and I didn't have to leave the comfort of my home.
Now I'll have to see if they also offer the movie "No Country for Old Men" and watch it at home.

lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thelma, we do have Time Warner's, "movies on demand", but I'm never home long enough to enjoy it. "I am looking forward to May though when my time will be just that, my time. Let me know how you like, "No Country For Old Men," when you watch it. It'll probably be the first one I choose to watch when I get my time.

Hey frank, it's given to the movie you don't walk out on when you're at the theater. Just for the best.

No clue. I'm at work and my boss still refuses to bring cable TV into the building or attach a satellite dish to the roof. I might as well work in a coal mine.
My good friends went to see No Country For Old Men last week. When I asked them what they thought of it, they answered simultaneously so I can't be certain what each said. But it went something like this:
She: Oh, my God! It was wonderful. I absolutely loved it. It made me think so much about things I'd never thought of before!
He: It sucked! It had no beginning. It ended in the middle. And the last hour was a bunch of artsy-fartsy crap with no point at all.
He and I are planning to go see Rambo together next weekend.
