I don't do ladders anymore. The front of my house is 2 stories, the back is 3 stories. Any window not updated has to be hired out. Fortunately, we did them years ago.

I still remember the wise words of Dave Griffin when I fell from a ladder and cracked a couple of ribs. He told me that a good rule of thumb was to never carry my ass any higher than the level at which my shoulders would be while standing on the ground. We live in a single story house but I hire someone to clean our gutters and try to keep my personal center of gravity as close to the ground as possible.
