PICENTE: COUNTY MONITORING PERSON WHO RECENTLY RETURNED FROM CHINA FOR CORONAVIRUSThe Oneida County Health Department is monitoring a person who recently returned from China for potential exposure to coronavirus. Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente says the person is not currently showing symptoms, but will still be monitored for the next two weeks. "Just the fact that someone returns from China, have to be monitored for a period of 14 days to see if anything has occurred or is occurring regarding the virus. Right now, we are monitoring; but there are no symptoms. It’s been a couple days so we'll have to see what transpires, but right now, there's no level of concern at that point," said Picente. He says the county has protocols in place for situations like this, including quarantine measures if a contagious virus in confirmed. On Monday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said there aren't any confirmed cases of coronavirus in New York. The state has tested 22 people for the virus, with all tests returning negative. The coronavirus has killed more than 800 people in China, even more than the SARS epidemic. More than 360 cases have been confirmed outside of China. www.wktv.com/content/news/Picente-County-monitoring-person-who-recently-returned-from-China-for-coronavirus-567730871.htmlGet out the Raid!
