You came and went after I had left CB. There was some very nice folks in advertising when I was there. A couple of gals were the ones I remember most. One of them was going with the press foreman that I lived next door to a few years before. Was John Walker running the transportation branch when you were there? A tall black fellow? He and I went to school together and have been friends since the 50's. He was driving a van at night part time and I hired him as my assistant manager. He took over when I left. Great guy. Very personable.

When i was in h.s. I used to walk in the dead of winter a mile to get there. Now, we get 3-4 inches they're delayed a couple hours. It's ridiculous. The news media is just as guilty with their patronizing attitude towards people. How many times do we need to be told like we're children & to wear warm clothes & put gloves on because it's cold out? Or to take our time clearing snow because us poor babies may hurt ourselves? Are we stupid enough that we need to be told by some snot nosed news person who never walked to school & back again in 5 degree weather like I did to put a pair of gloves on? And do we need Picente & Destito telling us how to drive because of 6 inches of snow? Give it a rest. You forgot to they also tell us to wake up a little early to scrape the ice of car windows. Now they have a new format when it is windy: I think it is called Where is my can or something like that. Depending on the wind it is either next door or down the street.

I don't remember John Walker. I did risk the Arctic conditions to drive to the dentist by 9:00 AM. Didn't even have to wear my warmest coat.

Must be nice to be acclimated to the colder temperatures. It was 26 degrees here a little while ago. I about froze to death when I took the dog out this morning. I have gotten to be a wimp since we moved down here I guess. There were flurries in the air earlier. I probably should have rushed out and bought the normal snow panic survival supplies. It snowed so hard that I had to look at a dark background in order to see the occasional flake float down. haha Even though it was only a barely discernable flurry, there was the usual chat from a couple of people on facebook about being careful out there on the roads (which are bare and dry) and making sure that you have gas in your tank, and the usual food items in stock.

What, you don't have one in your car at all times? My mother would not let me leave the house w/o it even in July. Be sure you have a thermos of hot coffee.

My winter survival kit consisted of new thermals that the other half gave me for Xmas as it was -5 when I left the house. Oh & I stopped at Dunkin for a cup of coffee. My bad.
