Hunker down and stay warm PB. I saw on tv that it is supposed to be nasty driving South and West of Syracuse. How bad is it supposed to get in the Utica/Rome area?

Cuomo is talking about mobilizing the National Guard. For 9-12 inches of snow? It's ridiculous. This is upstate N.Y., every winter it snows & it's cold. A foot of snow is now a crisis. Unbelievable.

How much has Utica gotten? I am watching the national news and they are saying Saratoga had 17 inches as of midnight and still snowing steadily. We are predicted to possibly see some flurries here today and the mountains around us have seen up to 8 inches in some places with travel hazardous and not advised.
You couldn't pay me to drive those roads in the snow and ice. Many of the mountain roads are narrow and curvy and lack guard rails. If you go off the road you are in for a hell of a ride.
Flurries? Oh no! The panic sets in. Do I need to go shopping for emergency supplies? I better check. Toilet paper? Check. Bottled water? Check. Bread? Check. Milk? Check. Eggs? Check. COFFEE??? Phew. Yep. We have coffee. That life giving fluid will carry us through the storm. We are well prepared for snow. We will be able to prepare the standard winter storm survival menu of French toast and coffee.
It always cracks me up to see people buying bottled water because it is going to snow. Why in hell would water service be affected by snow? LOL
I can't believe it. They just announced that local schools are on a 2 hour delay. Roads are dry and bare. Not a flurry in the air. I guess it gives them two more hours to contemplate closing the schools when that first flurry flies, haha.

Enough snow to close all the schools. The roads are plowed but my driveway is still full. Barb wants me to clear it now, I want to wait until it stops snowing.
We have kids coming for birthday cake this evening. Barb offered to fix them what they wanted for dinner. Their choice: mac & cheese plus hot dogs.

There is nothing better than hot dogs and macaroni & cheese. That's some gourmet eating right there. It was my boy's favorite meal, and they didn't want that home made stuff or store brand. They were fussy. Kraft Dinner was the order of the day. One of my stepsons used to put ketchup on the mac and cheese. If I still lived up there I would come and do your driveway in exchange for mac and cheese and hot dogs.
