It doesn't look half bad now that the remodel is seriously being accomplished. I am surprised on how much they have gotten done in a few short weeks. It has to be better than 75% of the store and I like the new items being placed on shelves by the busy little bee's. Granted I can't just head in a go directly to an item I planned to buy but redoing the floor plan in my mind will be fun.

"Busy little bees"...............LMAO!! More like indentured servitude for some of them up there. It's going to be a couple weeks I think before I go back. Looking forward to working again, just not there. The remodel is slated to go on until November sometime. Not sure why, but I don't know what they are doing at the moment and can't hazard a guess at any rate.

When they reset the Bristol Va store on the other side of town I heard that they put the fixtures and racks in the clothing department so close together that you have to leave your cart in one of the main aisles and venture into the maze. A person needs to wear a GPS tracking device in case they are lost so customer service can dispatch the rescuers to help you back to your cart.
Just one more reason to dislike my favorite retailer to hate and one more reason to shop at Target.

I was listening to an employee at Walmart who was outside waiting for her bus as she was complaining to personnel about her horrible day. She must have used the " F " word 50 times as well as refer to her supervisor as the "bitch with the funny eye". Also she broke the world record for the most used words in a single breath.
She really was being totally disrespectful and I hope the personnel person reported what she heard and had this girl fired. I would have in a second.
Today I overheard another one complaining to another employee on the phone that she just found out she was paid every 2 weeks and only has $4.00 in her name. She either is brand new and missed a meeting or never paid attention while being trained. The first think I always listened to was how we were paid.
I remember one year the school district was going to change how it paid its employees to only once a month. Needless to say the unions worked overtime on that one and we won for every two weeks.

Clipper the men's department still isn't done and everything is packed close together. I wouldn't venture into it either. However with the isles being closer together in some places I always leave my cart at the entrance to an isle off to the side makes it easier for me.
I went to Target yesterday also to buy a package of scones. Not the ones I wanted. I wanted plain. I noticed they sell the same stuff as Walmart but a little more expensive. Fage Greek Plain Yogurt in the small container was a dollar more expensive than Walmart. WOW.

I was in that place the other day. I usually avoid it but we were out of dog food & I didn't want to drive to Price Chopper, which is another retailer I'm starting to hate. So i took the plunge into Wally World. The place was a ratrace. Half the people in there were employees doing the reset. I got the dog food & beat feet it out of there. I wonder how many of the new employees realize that once WalMart is done with the new setup they'll probably get their walking papers right before the Holidays? And WalMart will make sure that they're just short of qualifying for UI benefits. I guarantee it.

I had to venture to Hannaford on Mohawk St Saturday since I originally went to Price Chopper to get a veal steak or something like that and since PC didn't have any veal out except ground I purchased a beautiful veal steak 1 pound for $7.94 the cheapest package on the shelf. LOL. Now for veal and peppers for my Sunday dinner. Oh Boy I am so excited.
I asked Walmart if they would bring in some veal and was told no! Gee I asked for Lamb and they brought that in? Oh well just another trip via the Bus for me. Actually the Bus going to Hannaford has some nicer people on it.

Kathy just got a Walmart gift card for $50 from one of her nephews. You can bet that the dog and I will be watching a Netflix video on the Ipad in the truck while she shops til her heart's content, haha. There used to be a McDonald's just inside the front door but they closed it up. I used to sit in McDonald's and drink coffee and read a book while she shopped. Other than their breakfast sandwiches and their coffee I don't care much more for McDonald's than I do for Walmart, but they DO have excellent coffee. Sometimes when I have and early appointment at the VA I will hit the drive-thru for a sausage and egg muffin and a large coffee.
Do they still have a McDonald's inside the Walmart stores in that area or did they do away with them in all their stores?

There is still a McDonald's in N. Utica, and New Hartford's has a Subway. Last I knew there was a Dunkin in the Herkimer store. I don't know if they bid on the stores or what, but they're all different.

The one in N. Utica has a McD's. I do like their coffee which is now available in grocers around here.

I do have to say I do like the way the store looks. Shopping is now even more of a joy. I did have a time finding vinegar and low and behold it is now with the oils. Makes sense. Hey I see a new variety of coffee by Folgers and another brand that sells for $15.97/lb. Even Jack Daniels has a coffee out that I never heard of. Here is the other www.jackdanielscoffee.com/According to Foodbeast, Jack Daniel's partnered with World of Coffee to create the new coffee, called Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey Coffee. It's made from Arabica coffee beans that are medium-roasted and infused with Jack Daniel's whiskey.Oct 17, 2017 I wonder if you have to look 40 years old to buy it?

They need to stop messing with me. I'm too old to learn new stuff. he easiest thing to find in our kitchen is the large red canister. That is important in the morning.

I agree CB. As long as the carousel of Keurig pods remains in place of prominence next to the coffee maker on our kitchen counter I shall survive mornings.
I was forced to go to my favorite place to hate the other night after bowling. We were out of the rolls of bags that we use with our vacuum sealer and Kathy was prepping squash for freezing.
At least at 10pm I didn't have to encounter the usual throng of weirdos and misfits. I DID have to hunt for the item that I normally walked directly to in the past. the rolls of bag material were always located either close to the appliance itself, or on the aisle with the canning jars. I hunted all over, going up and down the various aisles in the houseware dept. a couple of times before finding the boxes of rolls on an obscure place on a top shelf in the aisle with pots and pans. I grabbed the item and used one of the self checkout kiosks because there was only 2 live cashiers open, and both lines were plugged with people that had a buggy full of groceries.
I would not be surprised if the next time we are in need of the food sealer bags, I find them in automotive or the paint department. GOD I HATE SHOPPING IN THAT PLACE.

I've been in and out of my store a number of times since my surgery and I dread going back. They split my aisle, 8/9, into three different areas. 9 with condiments went to aisle 7 and grew, and 8 went to aisle 18 and grew as well. The bulk foods that were at the end of my aisle went to the middle of aisle 12. I've spent my time at home searching for other places of emplacement but haven't heard a peep as of yet. I go back to work on the 2nd of October and already want to tear my hair out after seeing it all.

Ralph, do you still keep the same aisle 8/9 but with the new items or do you have to go to the products you were in charge of regardless of what aisle's they are in?
I am a little upset with Walmart. I went to return some recyclable cans and both can redemption slots where cans are returned were broken. So I went to Customer Service and was told I would have to go someplace else because they do not have any containers in Customer Service like they used to. I will have to send and email to corporation headquarters and report this.
