I don't know, Clipper. There is a topic on the General board that looks pretty damned racist to me. But you're the boss.. Well, far as bandwidth ... if I ever post any images that add to the bottom line feel free to erase or remove them. Far as the racist thing, Stoney... are there hard stats on the actual percentages by race? Sorry for the cross posting. |

There is no causal effect to point at it being intrinsic. Therefore, it's only logical to presume that societal conditions effect the outcome of those stats.
Percentage-wise, are there more blacks in prison than whites? Yep. Is it because there is something within that race (intrinsic to) that's the cause? Nope. Hence, something or things in society effected the outcome.

I removed the original thread from the "Steam Room." I should have deleted it when it was posted. I am sorry to have let it stay up as long as I did.
I have been criticized in the past, and will be criticized now, but racially biased statements simply are not allowed on this forum. Just about any subject under the sun is open to discussion, but blanket statements about blacks as a whole, discriminate against the many GOOD black people and families.
As a member of long standing posted on the original thread, arguments over discussions of race can never be won by either side. Therefore I am not able to see any productive purpose in allowing the discussion to go on, with the risk of hard feelings between members, and offensive remarks hurting people of color that may read the forum's postings.
I apologize for any offense taken for either my actions, or for the original posting. At risk of losing either friends or members, I will continue to stress the policy of deleting racially inflammatory threads.

I think you did the right thing, Clipper. The point the writer was obviously making was that all the perps were black, not that they were males or even that they were crack addicts. He could have made his point just by saying there were thugs/perps/etc. out there. The color of their skin had nothing to do with it.

I guess it is time for y'all to get back to issues of importance to the world and if there is any blame for the present situation, it belongs with me and only me. Not Stoney or Dave or anyone else.
I guess so far, in the life of the forum, it has been a historic fact that conflicts have all involved me personally. Hmmm. I can only say that in both cases, I feel justified in protecting the integrity of the forum from ignorance and wrong motives in posting. One case was a case of testing the boundaries of what would be allowed. the other was a conflict on a couple of levels, that would not be fair to comment upon, since the member has deleted her membership, and cannot defend herself. The first situation I feel free to discuss, because it occurred before we had a rule against discussing it, and it was the sole and original reason we found it necessary to implement restrictions on what could be discussed or posted.
I don't apologize for being over reactive on occasion. I am not ashamed to be a defender of people of other races, and if it is considered eccentric, so be it. I can only try to avoid conflict by learning and doing things differently in future matters, but I will not promise that I will not delete or lock any posts in the future if they wander beyond MY perceived boundaries of good taste.
Being the administrator of a site such as this is a privilege, a responsibility, and a pain in the ass at times. Bear with me. I love and respect you all. Being retired puts me in the position of being on here more than the other two moderators WHO HAVE A LIFE haha! Actually, I also have a busy life, but have time during the day to keep an eye on the forum, more so than the other two.
I hope we have been able to resolve some of this issue, and better understand each other's views. I know I learn from minor disputes such as this, and we have many many very intelligent and savvy people on here. I think everyone has taken the opportunity to make there viewpoint known, and I personally will make a point of pondering each of those opinions and the thoughts that justify them. I hope everyone has a good evening.

Just a quick personal question. Do you leave the whip hanging with your clothes when you put on your jammies at night?? For JT's sake, I certainly hope so.
Ya know, I have reconsidered my request in the first line of this post. Forget the whole thing. I am not into pain, and if I need any disgusting crap whispered in my ear, I will look up my ex-wife. LOLOL!

Yeah Stoney, "jammies", those flannel or cotton things that button up to the collar and make a woman look like fifty pounds packaged in a 100 pound sack. Probably could be worn OVER your normal costume, haha.
Wilum, put the handcuffs away. Have you been hangin around Carl again? God, I thought our generation was still on whipped cream and chocolate syrup, and here you have moved on to restraints, whips and violent behavior. Sheesh. Behave yourself. hahaha!
